If You Blink You'll Miss The Breaching Great White Shark

This amazing shot shows a Great White Shark attacking a seal decoy near Seal Island. Hungry sharks hunt around the island, especially early morning. The apex predator and feared Great White shark hunt seals by coming from the deep at high speed and hitting the seal out of the water. The shark's speed is enough to lift the seal and itself often weighing over a 1000 kg straight out of the water. Believe it or not but sharks are not all that dangerous. Our judgment of them are based on the stereotypes set by big Hollywood films like 'Jaws.' In reality they are peaceful creatures to humans and are valuable to the oceans ecosystem. Sadly the population of sharks is slowly diminishing due to over-fishing and negative impacts that humans put onto the environment. Sharks need to be respected like any other animal!
