Captured some fireworks going off above the coop, was enough to send one of the hens into the nest to lay an egg. Normally she lays 7-8am. While we were sitting and doing my 5 year old daughters offline homework, our cat effy decided to stick her head where it did not belong. Happened so fast i was surprised i caught any of it on video. Cat was ok in the end. Yes my daughter loves to laugh maniacal. :)

One of our egg laying hens decided to sing her egg laying song, which attracted an audience and other song participants in and outside the coop.

Molly our Cuckoo Maran chicken is a new egg layer, tonight watch as she lays two soft eggs at night. This hen is a new egg layer, right now we are chalking it up to her figuring it out. She lays one good shelled egg, then the next day two soft shelled eggs. So far this is her pattern. You got this Molly!

Margo the easter egger chicken loves jumping the fence and getting in trouble with the two older guard hens on duty. The older hens know to wait for one of us to open the fence before they can go out, so when young margo hops over she gets put in her place often. Margo also knows the section of the fence if she hops on it enough it will collapse down and let them out. They dont seem to mind when that happens.

Margo the chicken is notorious for making escapes out her chicken run, but chicken molly is new at jumping the fence.
