Making Custom Washers - Ducati 900SS Bevel Restoration
In this 45 minute video I pulled together four separate projects. I finally found the two original case plugs I'd been looking for ever since I got this bike. After sorting those out, I needed new aluminum washers to fit. As these washers are unavailable in the correct sizes, I decided I would make them on my lathe as a nice beginner project.
After that, you'll see how I made up some fibre washers for the petcocks, that are also impossible to get. And finally, we check out some washers I obtained for the kickstart shaft and the oil filter... again, some very hard to find NOS parts.
Note that some of these recent videos are actually older footage that I'm trying to get posted before I start anything new. Lots of content here if you can be bothered sitting through it.

Sorting my Foot Pegs - Ducati 900SS Bevel
In this 22 minute video I chat about searching for and eventually obtaining a correct and matching set of footrests for my bike. Then I clean them up and install them. This footage is from about 2 years ago. Nothing much here. Just some chit-chat.

Easy Carb Sync - Ducati 900SS Bevel
This 32 minute video discusses and then demonstrates how to use a device called the CarbMate (not sponsored) to synchronize DELLORTO carburetors on a Ducati bevel and any similar 2 cylinder motorbike.
Syncing carbs accurately is a problem many riders face and the method I detail here is highly effective and repeatable. The video content repeats itself and I have done that on purpose. You can watch the first or second half or both.
It is made from several different videos, all recorded 2-3 years ago. The wobbly GoPro helmet cam is just the way it is. Send me a video production team and we can change that in future.
I should have checked eBay to see the current price of this device before making the video. I've checked it now and I see it is a fair bit more expensive and it is now a mark 2 model. It looks like a revision of the same device. If the manufacturer wants to send one over I'll do a test and another video. Contact me on the About tab on my channel.

Oh No!! Stripped Thread - Ducati 900SS Bevel
This 30 minute video shows me discussing and then fixing a stripped thread in the rear FPS wheel of my Ducati Bevel. I used a Time-Sert kit for this. This happened a couple of years ago during the long series of tasks I undertook on the forks, brakes and wheels. Check my channel for those videos. This video is purely for information and not a tutorial.

Chasing Runout - Ducati 900SS Bevel
In this 30 minute video I detail the various tasks I carried out to resolve a fluttering front brake. It was ultimately unnecessary to do anything, but I was happy that I'd done the work anyway. The video contains a lot of information that others might find interesting. Runout was not actually an issue, but you will see how I was able to minimised.
The audio is badly edited and often sounds rushed because of my efforts to keep the video short. I'm just glad to finally get this video out of the way so I can get onto other topics!

A Motorcycle You've Never Seen Before - The Engrich ART
Read the description here first. In this 40 minute video I have a chat with one of the creators of the unique Engrich ART motorcycle, handmade in New Zealand. This is the only one of this bike in the world and it happened to beat my bike to first place in the 2022 Kickback Classic bike show.
I was drawn to it by the apparent clash of design choices and so I made the effort to discuss these and the motivation behind creating the bike with engineer John Appel. It was a good chat and worth sharing with anyone interested.
The engine is the main product here and it is a classic British parallel twin updated with vibration-free balancing for the modern day.... and with 1200cc!!
Learn more about the Engrich and see some nice photos here:
https://www.engrichmotorcycle.nz/
Notes for complainers: This was a personal discussion, not an interview, and so I talk as much as I like in the video. The video quality, the camera wobble, and the bad audio is what it is. I'm not fussed.

Replacing my Slipping Clutch - Ducati 900SS Bevel
Read the description here before watching the video. This 55 minute video shows me replacing the slipping clutch on my 900SS bevel. There is a long phone chat with Brook Henry halfway through that I left in for interest. The remainder is just me doing the job and chatting. This is not a tutorial and is not meant to be short.

p.s. I had to republish this one as I'd missed something out.

4x6 Bandsaw - Fix the Cruddy Vice Jaws
Read the description here before you watch. This is one of a series of videos I've posted about the generic 4x6 bandsaw, beginning with a review, and leading to a full calibration and adjustment tutorial.
In this wobbly 2 minute handheld video I show what I did to fix the slop in both vice clamps. This could have been a warranty job, but I decided to fix it all using my mini milling machine. These were the first proper cuts I'd ever made on the mill. The big fence needed quite a bit of material removed but it all worked out in the end. I did this work before I decided to make any videos at all and so this was made after the fact.

In this 5 minute video I discover the quality of the tool's paintwork. The fix is simply to strip and repaint it. I also talk briefly about the Milwaukee die grinder tool that I often use in videos.

This is one of a series of videos I've posted about the generic 4x6 bandsaw, beginning with a review, and leading to a full calibration and adjustment tutorial. 4x6 Bandsaw - Best Vice Lock Mod
Read the description here before you watch. This is one of a series of videos I've posted about the generic 4x6 bandsaw, beginning with a review, and leading to a full calibration and adjustment tutorial.
In this 33 minute video I show my greatly improved vice fence locking bolt. There are many variations of this on YouTube, but I believe mine here is easily the best solution. As this was the first proper part I've ever made on my lathe, the video is mostly about that. It is not a tutorial and merely shows a greatly trimmed down version of what I went through.
4x6 Bandsaw - Nice Knobbies
Read the description here before you watch. This is one of a series of videos I've posted about the generic 4x6 bandsaw, beginning with a review, and leading to a full calibration and adjustment tutorial.
In this 3 minute video I simply exchange the bolts holding the blade guides for some nice hand-operable knobs. Nothing much to see in this other than that I decided to try and trim the threads down on my lathe. This was of interest to me as these were my first cuts on the lathe prior to making the two items seen in other videos in this series.
4x6 Bandsaw - Cure the Wobble
Read the description here before you watch. This is one of a series of videos I've posted about the generic 4x6 bandsaw, beginning with a review, and leading to a full calibration and adjustment tutorial.

In this 6 minute video I discuss breaking in the bandsaw blade. This is an important but simple process. Just go easy on the blade for a while.

4x6 Bandsaw - Nice Screw There Buddy
Read the description here before you watch. This is one of a series of videos I've posted about the generic 4x6 bandsaw, beginning with a review, and leading to a full calibration and adjustment tutorial.
In this 25 minute video I make a knurled screw to replace the bolt and washer that held the large safety panel in place. It is the second proper item I've made on my lathe and so the video focuses mainly on that process. I had problems with parting tools and the camera also developed a serious wobble near the end. It is not a tutorial and merely shows a greatly trimmed down version of the steps I went through.
4x6 Bandsaw - More Spring Tension Now!
Read the description here before you watch. This is one of a series of videos I've posted about the generic 4x6 bandsaw, beginning with a review, and leading to a full calibration and adjustment tutorial.
In this video I detail a simple trick I came up with to gain a little additional spring tension. This causes the blade to cut more slowly and helps with breaking the blade in and as well as with lighter or thinner materials. One could take this idea even further by moving the bracket to a new hole altogether.
4x6 Bandsaw - Best Vertical Table Mod
Read the description here before you watch. This is one of a series of videos I've posted about the generic 4x6 bandsaw, beginning with a review, and leading to a full calibration and adjustment tutorial.
In this 12 minute video I provide my take on sorting out the cruddy vertical saw table that comes with these tools. There are many variations of this on YouTube, but I haven't seen anyone do the simple and effective mod that I've done here. It is not a tutorial and merely shows a greatly trimmed down version of the steps I went through.
