YaHuWaH is a prayer-hearing Elohim. He has always been a prayer-hearing Elohim, and He is ready as ever to hear our prayers. According to Matthew Henry's commentary, "the most encouraging principle of prayer, and the most powerful plea in prayer, is to look upon" YaHuWaH as our Sovereign and our Eloah/Aloha. Please join us as we read and study and discuss Psalm 3. Benson's commentary tells us about verse 1 of this Psalm: [Sovereign David's prayer: YaHuWaH,] How are they increased that trouble me? — He might well say so, for the party that sought his ruin was very numerous and very formidable. Absalom, his son, had stolen away the hearts of the generality of the people, and was at the head of them: Ahithophel, his counsellor, sought his ruin; Shimei, with others of his enemies, reproached him as utterly forsaken of [ALoHA/ELoHiYM]; while many of his friends, undoubtedly, trembled for his safety. And, had Ahithophel’s advice been followed, his ruin, morally speaking, would have been unavoidable. No wonder, then, that he was in great trouble, as he certainly was in great danger: but in the midst of it he takes the right method, and has recourse to [ELoHiYM], his strong Helper. Please join us as we read and study and discuss Psalm 2. The Stone's TaNaKh (acronym that stands for Torah, Prophets and Writings) writes about Psalm 2: No matter how powerful the force, NOTHING can thwart YaHuWaH Elohim's will. And so, we pray for YaHuWaH's will to be done on Earth as it is in the ShaMahiYM (heavens). This Psalm shows strong distinction between the leaders of the nations, and their open rebellion to YaHuWaH and His Son, and the anointed Sovereign of YaHuWaH, and His MaShiYaCx (Messiah), who own the Place. Wrath and rage are mentioned a few times, as well as the need to be wise, be disciplined and be pure. What I didn't notice (because I was out helping with some cows for the completion of this Psalm) was in the Stone's TaNaKh, instead of saying "Kiss the Son...," it is written: "Yearn for purity..." That's two very different sounding translations. Upon further review, I found this: From Commentary on this phrase (Elliott Commentary): Kiss the Son.—This familiar translation must be surrendered. It has against it the weight of all the ancient versions except the Syriac. The new year is begins with the new moon closest to the spring equinox. Other than some Pacific islands on this side of man's date line who will observe a Fri.
