The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 57% of Likely Republican Voters would vote for Trump, while 13% would vote for Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis as the GOP nominee. Other 2024 candidates have single-digit support among Republican voters: Former Vice President Mike Pence (5%), former New Jersey Gov. Doubts about President Joe Biden’s ability to fulfill the duties of his office remain a concern for most voters, as the 2024 campaign approaches. The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 25% of Likely U.S. Voters are Very Confident that Biden is physically and mentally up to the job of being President of the United States. Another 19% say they are Somewhat Confident in Biden’s capability, while 12% are Not Very Confident and 42% are Not At All Confident. Most voters don’t feel very well represented by Congress, and believe the federal government no longer has “the consent of the governed.” The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that only 19% of Likely U.S. Voters believe the average member of Congress listens most to the voters he or she represents. Sixty-seven percent (67%) think the average member listens most to party leaders in Congress, and another 14% are not sure. That’s actually an improvement from the 10% who thought Congress members listened most to voters when we last asked this question in 2015.

Former President Donald Trump remains the overwhelming favorite to win the Republican nomination next year.
