Lonely Unfinished Mansion Sneak Peek
We left puzzled after exploring this unfinished remodel mansion. There was a metal staircase that went to the 2nd floor. The basement was very strange. It appeared to be taller than a normal basement. Large gaps that were for the air duct system, but they were large enough for a person to hide in. While in the basement we realized that the 1st floor had holes that were covered with plywood. Just a strange mansion that created more questions with each room. Hope y'all enjoyed this sneak peak and a longer in-depth video will be posted in the near future.

Abandoned Colonial Stucco Mansion
Urban Decayed gives RiP a tour of a mansion that was built in 1920. The mansion has 4 bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms. So much detail was found inside. There was sculptures on the walls, coat of arms hanging above the fireplace, and a dragon sculpture that was part of a fountain. Coolest surprise was the secret room that housed the musical instruments for the organ.

Abandoned Nuisance Condo Community
This video will take you on a journey of what is left of a condo community that has been empty since the summer of 2018. So many emotions are captured throughout the video. Go to the 21 minute mark to check out RiP falling off a tree!
This abandoned condo community was the longest environmental case this city has ever dealt with. In 2008 an environmental judge declared this community a nuisance. A condo community with a lengthy history of sewage backups, roach & rodent infestations, gang activity, and violent crimes.
Instead of using eminent domain to seize the property the city gave the condo association till 2014 to fix the issues and build up their financial reserves. Condo association had 127 owners for the 317 unit condo community. They had to bring the water and sewer supply lines up to code. Each unit needed separate meters instead of a single meter. When the water was shut off because a unit was behind on their water bill it would shut off the water supply to the other attached unit. Plus, whenever there was a sewage issue it would cost the city approximately $18,000 dollars to fix it.
By 2012 investors were buying up the abandoned condos for a few thousand dollars and renovating them. However, when 2014 came around the sewer and water line issue were not resolved and the condo association had not build up their financial reserves. So, negotiations began between the city and the condo association for the city to purchase the property. It was a difficult battle because many of the owners were uncooperative and felt that the city was purposely changing the city codes to prevent them from getting the units up to code.
In the beginning of 2018 the condo association agreed to allow the property to be purchased by the city for just under $9 million dollars. Most residents were given a court order to leave their unit within so many days. Families that had children attending schools in the school district were allowed to stay in their unit until the end of May so that their child could finish out the school year.
Now various fire departments in the area come and practice on these condos. Eventually everything will be demolished and a housing development plan will begin.

Abandoned School with some Hidden Surprises!
Warning, there was a close call during this explore. This is one reason people should not explore alone. Proceed with caution!
*This school gave the team a frightful experience due to an unexpected surprise inside. Turns out the locals have turned this abandoned school into a hangout spot. It is home to a bicycle club that people race their bikes throughout the building. There are ramps and obstacles setup to make races more challenging. Was told that it is where locals come to heal up from stab and gunshot wounds. It is were people come to withdraw off of drugs. Just not the safest place to explore alone.
When researching the history of this school two things came up: scandal and an Air Force General. It is safe to say this school was named after the first African American four-star general. Who started his aviation career as a Tuskegee Airman but did not see any combat missions during WWII. However, he would be in 179 combined combat missions in the Korean War and Vietnam War. He would die from a heart attack shortly after his retirement in 1978.
As for the scandal, it is why the school now sits abandoned. The school was a charter school that operated for ten years. Graduation rate was only 25% and test scores were well below Ohio's average scores. But what really caused the doors to close for good was a report released by the state auditor. According to the report the school inflated the attendance records which allowed them to receive 1.2 million dollars in state funding. Additionally, there was $19,000 of undocumented cash withdrawals by the schools director.
This school was to instill leadership qualities within the students like the man who the school was named after, but due to poor leadership the school may have put some tarnish onto his name and legacy.*

Abandoned Military Buildings in the Middle of a Field
RiP and the Urban Ninja team up to evade detection as they explore these abandoned military buildings that were once part of the active military base next to this field. Had to cross a field covered in snow and odd angel corn rows. Then the sound of a barking dog off in the distance put us further on the edge. As we left the area a couple of vehicles drove by and stared at us very strangely.....

Abandoned Family Fun Center
Summer of 1992 this family fun center was opened and closed a decay later. Today all that is left is the go-kart track, putt putt course, batting cage, and basketball hoops. The diner and arcade burned to the grounds sometime around 2008.

RiP and another urbexer team up to explore this abandoned farm house. Nothing too crazy was found inside. There was a pull down staircase in the middle of the house on the first floor which was one way up to the second floor. The other way was an actual staircase covered in animal feces found in the back of the kitchen. If you want to see photos of the house just click the link and it will take you to Remembering its Past Facebook page.

Partially Closed Hotel
RiP and Urban Decayed team up to explore this partially closed hotel. After taking photos and vide we talked with an employee asking why the hotel is only using one section. She said that because the hotel transferred to a different hotel chain that everything has to be remodeled. All the rooms have to be a certain color and layout. Urban Decayed said that this pool and rooms have looked liked this since 2019. Employee said once this section is complete they will shut down the other section and renovate it. There is a separate building on the property which will get demolished at some point. Too expensive to renovate it and too dangerous to explore it. Stay safe and see you on the next adventure!

Abandoned Highway House
RiP finally stops to check out a house that he has been watching for a couple of years while driving down the highway. Nothing exciting was found, only evidence of kids vandalizing the house was found. Did find it odd after looking at the video taken that the one room that RiP was not able to get in the windows had fresh boards from the inside.

Abandoned Nursing Home
This nursing home has been sitting empty for almost 15 years! After this mansion was built in the 1880's it was considered the greatest mansion in the city. Such beautiful woodwork was found and according to a historical organization the woodwork was black walnut. Around WWI a local university became the owners of this elegant mansion and it was turned into a fraternity house. Then sometime in the 1960's it became a nursing home after the fraternity moved back to campus.
