The I Ching is also known as the Book of Changes. Have you ever wondered how to use the I Ching with coins? Or how to consult the I Ching? Or how find meaning in the I Ching hexagrams? In this video, we explore this fascinating and mysterious oracle. This is the I Ching how to. We consider two approaches: the Divination Approach, and the Psychological Approach. 1. DIVINATION APPROACH: What is divination? The word comes from the Latin “divinare” which means “to foresee, to foretell, or to make prophecy.” It means gaining insight into a question or a problem through connecting with the divine. And historically, the I Ching has roots in divination, as early as neolithic China. It enjoyed widespread use during the Qin Dynasty between 221 BC to 206 BC, under emperor Qin Shi Huang. This video goes into one method for I Ching divination using three coins. 2. PSYCHOLOGICAL APPROACH: Pioneered by Swiss psychologist Carl Jung; he saw the I Ching as a way to access the symbols and archetypes of the collective unconscious. We can think of the hexagrams as a rich symbolic language; each one expressing a unique state of change that’s universal. We find it in nature, and in every culture in the world. In this video, we also explore some guidelines on forming questions when consulting the I Ching. There are no hard and fast rules to this. The I Ching is a personal oracle, and the point is to build an authentic and individual connection wit it, that resonates with you. The I Ching, also known as the Yi Jing, is an ancient Chinese divination text and is among the oldest of the Chinese classics. ORIGINS: The I Ching was originally a divination manual in the Western Zhou period (1000–750 BC). MEANING: The name I Ching is usually translated as the "Book of Changes" or "Classic of Changes". STRUCTURE: The core of the I Ching consists of 64 hexagrams, each composed of six lines. Each line has either a broken or unbroken state, allowing for a total of 64 possible combinations. USAGE: Over time, it transformed into a cosmological text with a series of philosophical commentaries known as the "Ten Wings". It was used for divination practice for centuries across the Far East and was the subject of scholarly commentary. INFLUENCE: During the 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries, it played an influential role in Western understanding of East Asian philosophical thought. DIVINATION METHOD: As a divination text, the I Ching is used for a Chinese form of cleromancy known as I Ching divination. In this method, bundles of yarrow stalks are manipulated to produce sets of six apparently random numbers ranging from 6 to 9. INTERPRETATION: The interpretation of the readings found in the I Ching has been discussed and debated over the centuries. Many commentators have used the book symbolically, often to provide guidance for moral decision-making, as informed by Confucianism, Taoism, and Buddhism. In early 2003, a team of German archaeologists working in Iraq stumbled across one of the most significant discoveries of modern times. - Deep beneath the desert sands, they discovered what they believed to be the long-lost tomb of the mythical King Gilgamesh, the protagonist of the oldest story human beings ever wrote – the Epic of Gilgamesh. - For centuries, historians had been divided over whether Gilgamesh actually existed or whether he was simply a figment of myth. That was until Jorg Fassbinder and his team of archaeologists, using modern technology to look deep into the ground, discovered an entire ancient city beneath the desert, astonishingly laid out just as the city of Uruk, over which Gilgamesh had purportedly reigned, was described in the Epic. - There were houses and gardens and fields, alongside “an incredibly sophisticated system of canals,” leading archaeologists to describe the site as “Venice in the desert.” More importantly, on the outskirts of the ancient city was what appeared to be a burial site, which archaeologists believed to be the tomb of the ancient king. As Fassbinder put it, "I don't want to say definitely it was the grave of King Gilgamesh, but it looks very similar to that described in the epic.” - It was, quite simply, a mind-blowing find, a long-lost missing piece of the origins of human history. - Surely, archaeologists believed, this would change everything, revealing to us secrets we never even knew we lost. But then, the unthinkable happened. Mere weeks after the tomb of Gilgamesh was discovered, the United States invaded Iraq, forcing Fassbinder and his team to abandon their work and flee the country, the mystery left unsolved. -

In this video we look at the simulation hypothesis and the question of whether we are living in a simulation. There are some surprising answers in an under explored source of knowledge: numerology. And as we dig deeper, we find that our world is governed by numbers. - How do we know if our experiences are real? - It’s an age old philosophical question. And it’s only getting better, every year. - Third, if we assume any rate of improvement at all, even a 1% improvement per year, then eventually, we should reach a point where we can’t tell these simulations apart from reality. It might happen 100 years from now. It might happen 1,000 years from now. But either way, it’s almost certain, that on a long enough timeline, we WILL eventually reach that point. Unless something stops us from getting there. Like an extinction event. - Fourth, if we ever did gain the technology to build a simulation, then we’d be able to build many, many simulations. - And because there’s only ONE base reality, the odds that we’re living in one of the millions of possible simulated worlds, is much higher than the odds that we’re living in the REAL world. - Whether or not you agree, Elon Musk isn’t alone here. A lot of smart people believe that the simulation hypothesis is true: from computer scientist Rizwan Virk, to physicist Max Tegmark. In the summer of 1889, Tesla traveled to the 1889 Exposition Universelle in Paris and learned of Heinrich Hertz's 1886–1888 experiments that proved the existence of electromagnetic radiation, including radio waves. The Mud Flood of Buenos Aires, Argentina is an event that has been shrouded in mystery and speculation for centuries.
