THE STALIN LINE - FIRST LOOK
The Russian pre WW2 bunker line running along the Polish Frontier from the Baltic's to the South. Was labelled the Russian Maginot line. I have traveled to Ukraine to take a full look at it, to determine its strengths and weaknesses.
Here is the first little pill box. and honestly it is not a bad start.

WEST WALL HEADQUARTERS TURNED COLD WAR COMMAND CENTER
One of the more interesting and large underground complexes of the West wall was originally dug into a mountain side intended for the German High Command West.
Its construction was kept a great secret and little if know from it, but after the area was liberated by Patton, and the French was persuaded to not blow it up. It eventually made its way on the roster of NATO command centers, and revamped for that purpose. Eventually they out-grew the complex, but maintained it until the mid 1990ties. and 20 some year later somebody gave me the key...
So now I can take you through this twice secret place and do a little exploring, and eventually got myself lost.

THE LAST FORT FIGHTING - FORT TROYON
Fort de Troyon it was built after the Franco-Prussian War from 1877 as a barrier fort it was made of limestone masonry. But it had an amazing feature of an amazing mortar ravelin It was then reinforced before WW1 but as we know it was not enough to withstand the German heavy shells. And shelled it was. Still not passable as the area is covered with unexplored shells.
So of course Roger Cook and I had to visit it and show you.

THE LOST WEST WALL WHAT WAS IT REALLY
The Siegfried Line or West Wall was the massive German bunker and fortress construction of defensive facing West. Initially envisaged to mirror the Ostwall, but the designs changed and events overtook the completion of what was planned.
But the depiction of the West Wall today is mostly wrong, it was claimed poorly defended and inconsequential but this is far from the case.
It was a vast 6 month long battlefield towards the end of the war, and over the next 4 episodes I am going to try and clarify exactly what the West Wall actually was, what the constructions were, the bunkers and huge forts.
Joined by local historians we are going to cover the large and small bunkers and fighting positions, and I will trek through the battlefields in the forests and hills to give you an idea what allied soldiers were actually up against.

FORT VAUX WAR OF THE LIVING DEAD - TO THE LAST PIGION
WW1 was fought many places, mostly we assassinate it with battles in wet trenches, but also in many of the forts, the tunnels and underground did men fight with flamethrowers and grenades only yards from each other. The Battle for the french Fort Vaux was one of those places, a place where one of the most important post war lessons were learned.
Also Historian Roger Cook will join us as we look at some of the most amazing cement trenches of the war, the huge bunker field hospital. I will go over the process of being wounded in 1916. And I have never seen WW1 fortifications like these, the war brought a whole new amazing design to trenches, far from what you might think.
Join us outside Verdun.

SPECIAL WW2 PROJECT - ZITTAU WERKE MORE THAN JETS!
At times I will look at a site and ask myself, what is wrong with what I am seeing, it would be so easy to just take what we know and run with it. But the visuals wont make sense.
They made ME262 engines and rockets here, the SS area was sealed. But the constructions of their barracks is unlike anything I have seen, and with 3 levels of prewar mining tunnels underneath? Sealed tunnel entrances, special trains stopping here, General Kammler. And a commander who admits to having hidden something in the underground.
Well we are going to start by exploring the Zittwerke and cover what we can see, and go over what have been found by researchers, after all its only 50 km from the project Riese sites. Most research and presentations of this site have never been done in English so I am glad to finally open the international door and go over what was here and what is being found.
And Mr. Kawiak Jones is with us on this one too so join us and take a look at the special factory site, the strange barracks and the tunnel entrances.

The FANTASTIC FORTIFIED AREA OF METZ - THE 3 FORTS ON A RAIL
Metz is still one of the most amazing cities, and defended by several rings of forts. Construction of the first series began in 1867 by the French, these were then finished after the Franco Prussian war, by the Germans, who held the area until 1918. Then again these forts were bitterly fought for in 1944.
Constant building, rebuilding, strengthening in the face of new munitions development, we see 80 years of evolution of forts in many of them, so I wanted to explore these and show them to you, as much ad is possibly as they were heavily shelled and bombed some are falling apart. But we will visit Feste Manstein, Saint Quintin and finally Fort Diou. and all that is in between.
This was one of the more fun explorations of these truly fantastic forts I have done, and I look forward to going back. but join me for a great trip through history.

AMAZING COLD WAR STEVNSFORTET - WW2 TECH IN ACTION
One of the most interesting forts of the post war era must be Fortress Stevnsfortet.constructed in Denmark at the very first years of the cold war, but mostly armed with WW2 German and American equipment, kept alive by skilled and overworked technicians until the early 2000.
One of the former soldiers of the fort takes us through the entire underground structure, its bunkers and cannons and their wells. Munitions stores and I will share with you the history of the huge German Naval guns still in place at the fort.
join us for the next fascinating evolution of the Great Forts.

ATLANTIC WALL BUNKERS AND TUNNELS UNDER THE SAND IN HOLLAND
Touring the Atlantic wall bunkers and forts in Holland, I came across some of the most unique tunnels connecting a series of bunkers by the coast.
And I had to show you the exploration, only made possibly after a couple local teenagers caught hold of me and took me to the hidden broken back entrance:-)
Now obviously it was a fighting position, and obs post and command center. But there is a strange set up in each of the bunkers that still leads me to think it is something else then the scant information I was able to find about this site. Take a walk with me (well us) and tell me what you think.
And try to ignore the Graffiti lord knows I did...

HISTORY OF BALLOON WARFARE FROM NAPOLEON TO CHINESE SPIES
Given the current events resulting in the IS Air force shooting down the Chinese Spy balloon which have been flying over CONUS for the past several days. I wanted to make a quick video about the history of balloons in military service, and the potential of what dangers a balloon could actually pose to the US today. It is not as simple as one may think, if we open up for potentials, and I will also as a military historian and soldier address why using a missile was a poor choice.
Enjoy and learn.
