Blindspot #024 - Nazi’s march in Ukraine, Assange controversy & South Africa's democracy burns
The Blindspot blog -
https://buiteboer.co.za/2022/01/05/blindspot-024-nazis-march-in-ukraine-assange-controversy-south-africas-democracy-burns/
The first Blindspot of 2022 introduces our new looking & sounding introduction.
The year kicked off to a hot flame-filled start in parliament- seems like Desmond Tutu’s departure from planet earth generated heated debate, or, is it a case of a departing soul setting things on fire, and turning off the light switch on the way out?
Blindspot returns in 2022 with more coverage of dynamics, ideas, or destructively mad methods humans deploy in the name of sanity and civilisation. Blindspot 24 covers some fiery stories.
In the Ukraine ultra far-right supporters marched to mark the birthday of Stepan Bandera, known Nazi collaborator in Ukraine during WWII. As the neo-Nazis were marching with their lit torches in Kiev, someone on the other side of the planet decided to have his own torchlight march in the parliament buildings, Cape Town, South Africa.
Seems like the political year is going up in flames, even before it started.
Our key stories for tonight:
- Nazi’s March in Kiev, Ukraine
- South Africa’s democracy going up in smoke
- Assange controversy, an alternative view from Hong Kong/China
- UN cannot reach consensus on limits to autonomous weapons

Blindspot #23 - #BabySatan on display in Illinois, Crimea fight CONTINUES
Blindspot #023
#BabySatan on display in Springfield, Illinois,USA & the fight for Crimea CONTINUES
www.buiteboer.co.za
In this, perhaps the final Blindspot of this rather weird year, we look into three stories:
1. The UN's Food and Agricultural Organisation's Food Price Index at a decade-level high
2. Ongoing tensions in and around Crimea & Ukraine
3. An exhibit by the Satanic church of Illinois, USA, of a statue of the 'Baby Baphomet' right next to the usual Christmas nativity scene featuring, of course, the polar opposite - Baby Jesus.
It is strange times indeed.
www.buiteboer.co.za
On the FAO Food Price Index:
The UN reported recently: “The FAO Food Price Index (FFPI) averaged 134.4 points in November 2021, up 1.6 points (1.2 percent) from October and 28.8 points (27.3 percent) from November 2020. The latest increase marked the fourth consecutive monthly rise in the value of the FFPI, putting the index at its highest level since June 2011. Among the sub-indices, in November those for cereals and dairy rose most significantly, followed by sugar, while those for meat and vegetable oils were down, albeit slightly, from the previous month.”
The last time it was this high it also coincided with the outbreak of the so-called ‘Arab Spring’ in 2011. It is a known fact that one of the major factors that contributed to political uprisings in Egypt, was wheat shortages, and food shortages in the country. When the world food price index reaches these levels, all bets are off against social unrest, food riots, and compromised human security.
On the Crimea situation, some notes from the show:
The fights for Crimea, and Taiwan have been grabbing headlines for a very long time, and does therefore not necessarily mean these are blindspots. But, the blindspots may be hiding behind the sensationalist headlines that occupy the information battlefronts between Western powers, Russia, and China respectively. What is hidden behind the sensationalist headlines is a global containment strategy aimed at strategically limiting Russia, and China strategic manoeuvrability.
Today we will mostly focus on Crimea, but, let it be noted the two BRICS member states, China and Russia, are both facing very specific counter-actions by Western powers due to claims- and counter-claims regarding control/rightful ‘ownership’ of these territories.
For anyone vaguely paying attention to the northern hemisphere, it is evident that bilateral and multi-lateral relations are under strain as geopolitical and strategic positioning issues take centre stage.
Of late the new German Chancellor has been making policy noises that make it seem as if there is new or different and much more anti-Russian attitudes running around Germany since Angela Merkel hung up her political gloves. This also, of course include ongoing tensions regarding a European energy, and specifically natural gas crisis.
On the 28th of December, 2021, news broke that the Russian Federation and USA will hold talks on arms control, and the Ukraine, on 10 January, 2022. This comes after significant diplomatic wars of words between not only the USA and Russia, but also Russia and NATO.
As covered in a previous Blindspot, the actual post-Cold War Blindspot to note is the aggressive expansion of NATO into former Soviet Republics. Of course it is not only NATO, but the European Union as well that has gradually expanded its footprint to envelop former Soviet Republics similarly. This issue has become hotly debated and reported on the recent weeks.
On 27 December RT reported: “Speaking during a briefing for military attachés and other foreign diplomats, in Moscow, on Monday, Russian Deputy Defense Minister Alexander Fomin accused NATO of readying up for an all-out war with Russia. The military development of the bloc has been redirected in full to prepare for a large-scale, high-intensity armed conflict with Russia,”
ABC News and other outlets also picked up on this statement and echoed similar sentiments, only from the proverbial ‘other (non-Russian) side’ of the fence of the Ukraine/Crimea frontlines.
RT also reported recently: "Relations between Russia and NATO got increasingly worse in recent months. In October, Moscow said it would suspend all direct ties with NATO, shutting down its offices in Moscow in response to the expulsion of eight Russian diplomats from its Brussels headquarters. At the time, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said the bilateral channels were used by the bloc for “whipping up propaganda and putting pressure on Russia” instead of meaningful dialogue.
To round off, let us look at two maps, the first indicating EU expansion into former eastern block nations, and the second that of NATO expansion following on the collapse of the Soviet Union and end of the Cold War.

Transhumanism exposed: Credo Mutwa warns against Robocops & Autopilot’s disease
https://buiteboer.co.za/2021/12/22/blindspot-022-transhumanism-exposed-credo-mutwa-warns-against-robocops-autopilots-disease/
Dear Blindspotter, A year end-letter. (Part a?)
Sinking deeper into so-called holiday season the political calendars of the world tick forward not in time, but into furore and growing planetary protest against democracies gone up in the smoke & mirrors of rule by ‘mandate’. And remember, if you remove three letters, surgically, from the word pan(dem)ic, you end up with: PANIC!
Nevertheless, Blindspot does not necessarily believe in Christmas, so there will be no such a special. However, seeing that it is a season of spending time on other things, Blindspot #022 will give its loyal audience a gift from Buiteboer’s book, Searching for Madness in the Method: this is not a survival guide to autopilot’s disease, and the turbulent twenties of the twenty-first century.
The purpose of the gift is simple - a sample chapter read by the author, to help you think ahead about the madness that might yet creep its way into reality from 2022’s forthcoming multi-dimensional woodwork.
Also, seeing that it is supposedly ‘holiday season,’ the Bunker 42 editorial committee is prone to bouts of randomism, and might therefore become adventurous. It might, or might not decide to chop the recording off at the knees at any stage. The goal with such an action will be to build suspense, and hence force viewers to return a few days deeper into holiday season to check part two of said Blindspot #022. Maybe Santa is planning to drop a pipe bomb through your chimney.
...
For the promised sample chapter 21 - A Flashback - Credo Mutwa and the ancient wonder of the Self-Driving Hut.

Blindspot #019 - Africa targeted with the most terror strikes of all continents in 2021
This week Blindspot looks at a United Nations report from mid year, when already it indicated that during 2021, the African continent had been target of the most terror strikes of all continents.
Blindspot investigates, and zooms in on the unique case of Uganda and the extent to which, in recent months, it had been targeted by the ADF, alternatively known as the Islamic State Central Africa Province.
Blindspot warns that the SADC deployment in Mozambique, to fight the Islamic State there, will in all likelihood attract reciprocal attacks in the territories troop contributing countries.

Blindspot #018 -Gaddafi comeback in Libya & US diplomats held hostage in Yemen (Benghazi?)
Visit www.buiteboer.co.za
Blindspot #009 - Turkey’s Africa Policy Gambits and the next US Civil War looming? covered a significant set of issues pertaining to Libya, and particularly Turkish involvement, influence, and deployment of drones in the war torn country.
Blindspot’s attention again got drawn to North Africa, and Libya in particular in the past week, due to news that the Son of Muammar Gaddafi, Saif al-Islam, registered to stand as candidate in Libya’s forthcoming, 24 December, Presidential elections.
But, to get the discussion going, before delving deeper into ghosts returning to Libya, breaking news from Yemen is that a militant group had attacked, and ransacked the US embassy in Sana’a, Yemen, and had taken 25 people linked to the embassy, including US diplomats hostage, according to a report from Fox News, 13 November, 2021.
Also, Daily Mail reported on 11 November, how Iranian backed Houthi Rebels stormed the US embassy in Yemen, and seized at least 25 staff, hostages, and files.
NBC News reported during May, 2021, that a senior team of officials from the USA were in Libya exploring options, sites, and negotiating for the re-establishment of a US embassy in the country. It is to be expected that the US might not get palm leaves and flowers strewn in front of it, as it tries to re-enter the fray of war created, by a large extent, due to its policy designs that killed the father of Saif al-Islam, who is now dedicated to making a return to Libyan politics.
US official re-entry into Libya comes at the worst possible time for the country’s reputation, and the congested political battlefields of Libya, involving several other regional- and major powers. The message may also be, to be on the lookout, for deepening Biden administration interest- and involvement in Libya.
The US evacuation of Afghanistan is not forgotten, and it is trying to find strategic fall-back anchor points as it gets challenged more and more in the region as seen in recent reports from Yemen.
Whether it is the name Gaddafi making a comeback in Libyan politics, or, the USA re-entering the country, both cases are bound to lead to new questions and tensions.

Blindspot #017 - Cognitive war, supply chain breakdowns & China warns citizens: Stockpile Food!
Visit www.buiteboer.co.za for more...
This week we look at a common global Blindspot emerging in the form of food production snags, supply chain breakdowns, escalating fertiliser and fuel costs, and the outcome of it all: shortages.
Blindspot #012 looked at the woes of China’s property sector, and the risks faced by the global financial system as the behemoth developer, Evergrande, continue to falter, and splutter along, barely meeting its mountainous debt obligations.
But, more strange news. Recently the Chinese government called on citizens, as winter approaches, to stock up on food and other daily necessities. This sent the networld of analysts into an interpretive frenzy.
- Is it because of new Covid-19 lockdowns coming,
- Is it because of a dark winter looming with major energy shortages (not only in China, but also Europe, and the USA),
- Is a market or financial system cataclysm about to hit,
- Is it because of broken supply chains combined with inflation, or,
- Is it because China is prepping for the inevitable pounce to take back what it sees as rightfully Chinese, being the isle of Taiwan?
Blindspot asks: Which of the above interpretive efforts, or mixture thereof, will pan out as reality, if any?
As South Africa grapples with the crippling economic effects of lockdowns, the cost of corruption, and morose levels of inefficient public sector wastage, and the cost of a near permanent condition of electricity blackouts, the topic of inflation, the cost of fuel and food, will soon lead to escalating concerns about food security in South Africa.
In African conflict studies there is a well understood fact, being that basic human security is anchored in food and water security. TimesLive, in the past week, reported on a statement released by the Transvaal Agricultural Association of South Africa that issues a stark warning for what is yet to come down the agricultural production pipeline in this country. It indicates,
“According to calculations by Grain SA, the total variable cost of maize is expected to see an average increase of 20%-28% year on year,” said TLU SA. Potato farmers believe that their input costs will increase by an average of 30%, “which will obviously have an impact on the profitability of the product as well as the price on the market. If the government does not actively intervene and address the Eskom challenge, it is a further influence that will hamper production. Where there is insufficient power supply to irrigate lands, the result is permanent damage to yields and this factor entails further losses.’
Blindspot also looks at the food shortages hitting the USA, and to understand it all better we turn to Wolf Richter's Wolfstreet report.
One of the important factors outlined in the report is that the US Federal Reserve, and most of the mainstream market cheerleaders, blame supply chain ruptures, delays, and weirdness for spiking persistent inflation.
Wolf Richter, argues, contrarily, that the root of the inflationary spike & everything shortage evil, can be found at that very address - being the Fed. More specifically the ongoing printing party that feeds about 120bn USD into the system per month!
Two apt terms he coins to describe what is unfolding in and around the Fed as intended or unintended consequences are:
- The everything shortage
- The everything bubble (created by ongoing money printing)

Blindspot #016 - War drums roll in Addis Ababa & Ethiopia; South Africa’s local stay-away vote!
For more visit - www.buiteboer.co.za
Blindspot firstly checks in on what turns out to have been a rather subdued affair as exhibited in the extremely low voter turnout levels at the polls for South Africa’s local government elections, held on 1 November, 2021. SA Broadcasting Service (SABC) reported on 2 November that the CSIR expects total turnout to be 48% of eligible voters. There are most definitely a whole truckload of blindspots one could identify that contributed to such levels of political apathy.
The non-vote is a vote for the non-alternatives, the non-ideas, and non-visions, and the non-policies political parties and want-to-be rulers try to sell to the voting public. This means, the vote that stayed away, that silent vote, is a potential comment on the non-solution most current active parties offer citizens.
The stay at home non-vote is a vote against the political classes positioning themselves, their pals, their pockets, and patio’s for the spoils of ‘being connected to’ and in line to pick up some of the spoils that can be looted from an already fundamentally wrecked state.
Sometimes the best Blindspots hide in the open. To conclude our non-thoughts on the non-votes that ‘voted’ for other things on election day, the below is a quote from an article by Sasha Planting, Daily Maverick, if the state itself says the below about local government, then, well, it is broken:
“In its State of the Government report submitted to Cabinet in August, the Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs categorised just 16 out of 257 municipalities in SA as “stable”. Raw sewage runs through the streets of townships and into rivers, polluting waterways and spreading disease. Streetlights don’t work, enabling criminals, and streets are disintegrating, congesting traffic and adding to vehicle maintenance costs.”
Ethiopia & the Red Sea
On 2 November, Aljazeera breaks a story entitled: Addis Ababa asks residents to prepare to defend Ethiopian capital. Exactly one year ago conflict erupted in Ethiopia’s Tigray region. While regular headlines treat this as another bad news headline, it is much more than that. The Tigray conflict began in November 2020 after months of tension between the government and the region's ruling party, the Tigray People's Liberation Front (TPLF).
The TPLF dominated Ethiopian politics for almost three decades but lost power when Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed took office in 2018 amid anti-government protests.
In order to understand the apparent spontaneous eruption of armed violence in Tigray, it is necessary to look into some historical blindspots. The crux is quite interesting, and might sound eerily familiar to South African ears.

Blindspot #015 - Coup's stage African comeback & Swamp creatures in the White (out)House
For more detailed blogs, visit - https://buiteboer.co.za/2021/10/27/blindspot-015-coups-stage-an-african-comeback-swamp-creature-in-the-white-outhouse/
Blindspot covers the resurgence of the word coup in African political headlines since 2020, while also asking questions about the rumoured coup that led Joe Biden to the White (out)House, as brainless swamp-thing...
Not very many so-called Mainstream media (MSM) channels are doing justice to reports from sources inside- and outside the USA, catching the strangest, and sometimes most embarrassing moments wherein the US President, Joe Biden, is clearly mentally not completely all ‘switched on.’
This in a time when the USA is still heavily divided due to the lingering election fraud accusations, still under investigation, and audit, in disputed states.
MAGA-man Trump is staging one MOER* of a comeback! Be Warned.
President Joe Biden has become a national Un-United States of America embarrassment, with approval ratings at the lowest level for any US president, at this stage of first-term presidential incumbency.
But, the story of coup's in the timeline of Blindspot edition #015, is traced from the resurgence of this word in political headlines since the great P(l)an(dem)ic of 2020, emerged on the African continent!
Nevertheless, in the African context Blindspot covers four countries, and six coups, that manifested between 2020 and 2021.
Blindspot #015 speculates that the word coup has been feeling rather neglected and abandoned in political headlines… including the MsM of the US-of-A...
Since the African Union tightened up it's mechanisms not to recognise what it calls, ‘unconstitutional changes of government,’ or coups, the coup phenomenon dwindled in the past decade or so. However, in the past year to two, the word coup makes a major comeback on the African continent.
A casual glance back over news headlines indicate that the word coup has, a bit like a semi-retired boxing legend, needing a last round to beef up retirement funds, made a comeback.
Blindspot #015 covers no less than six coups in little over a year, in four countries, including: Mali (x2), Guinea, Sudan (x2), and Chad.
Blindspot speculates that this might be no coincidence seeing that world society, economies, and states have all been adversely affected by measures taken to lock the world economy down, and thus upset fragile political-economic, and social systems in developing- and African nations.
As covered in a previous Blindspot, Mali has been particularly unstable, prone to insurgency as well as coups, since the fall of Muamar Gaddafi in Libya.
No less than two coups happened in Mali (August 2020, and May 2021).
In Chad during May 2021, the word coup also surfaced together with putschist militarists.
In Guinea, during September 2021, Special Forces, under leadership of Lieutenant-Colonel Mamady Doumbouya – a former French foreign legionnaire officer – appeared on public television, draped in the national flag saying government “mismanagement” prompted the coup.
During October a coup toppled, and scuttled efforts slowly to restore civilian rule in Sudan. Blindspot contends that this is still the long-term after-shocks of the unravelling of the Omar al-Bashir era.
Omar al-Bashir ruled Sudan for thirty years, from 1989. Buiteboer spent much time and effort over the years conducting hands-on primary research in Sudan (before the South's independence), as well as in Southern Sudan.
The leader General of the most recent coup in Sudan, Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, had Abdalla Hamdok - the Prime Minister, and other civilian leaders arrested in late October, 2021. It is reported that there has been mounting dissatisfaction over the weakening of the military in the transition process.
The military has, since independence, played a central role in the vastly complex internal politics of Sudan. In the year 2021 the country experienced one coup attempt during September, and one successful coup - from inside the armed forces, to force the incumbent president, who had insinuated himself into headship of the state via coup himself. Coup folds into coup...for much more visit... www.buiteboer.co.za

Coup's on earth might mean coups in realms beyond 3D [meat brain] comprehension... in/on the outer/off-worldly/planetary realms.

Russia severs ties with NATO & Australia’s Authoritarian [VAX] Apartheid
Blindspot #014 is packed with two big stories this week.
Visit www.buiteboer.co.za for more...
As covered in previous Blindspots, a series of developments, including the rise of Iran through becoming a member of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation, the fall of NATO in Afghanistan, and the immense Chinese pressure on Taiwan as likely flashpoint of geopolitical conflict, are now given further geopolitical ‘meaning’ due to the Russian Federation severing diplomatic ties with NATO.
This Russian action is in response to NATO expelling eight Russian diplomats, apparently for ‘espionage,' at its Brussels headquarters.
Russian Foreign Minister, Sergey Lavrov, also announced that a NATO information bureau, located in Moscow, will be forced to shut down as part of retaliatory measures.
Blindspot shows how the real post- Cold War geopolitical Blindspot has been the aggressive expansion of NATO into post-Soviet Eastern European ‘turf’ - all the while encroaching on the Russian Federation’s borders.
This further breakdown in relations between the Russian Federation, and a braindead NATO (as it was called by the French president), signals more geo-strategic turbulence ahead.
The second big story of the week is an ominous speech by an Australian politician, Tim Quilty, in the parliament of Victoria, protesting the Vax mandates imposed by the state’s Premier - Daniel Andrews.
In an ironic twist of fate, Apartheid is now a buzz-word in Australian politics, because even elected parliamentarians are set to be barred from accessing the ‘house of parliament,’ if they are not vaccinated.
MailOnline.co.uk reports on the above that: “The motion passed the lower house on Thursday morning with the support of all but one MP, Liberal Neil Angus, who argued the requirement to show proof of the jab was 'undemocratic' and 'medical apartheid’.”
The Premier of Victoria apparently took great offence at the word ‘Apartheid’ used to describe the consequence of draconian Praetorian vaccine mandates. This now means that any ‘citizen’ of Victoria, who have not had a needle stuck into them, will not be able to work, walk the dog, welcome friends in their home, go to school or church, and now - they won’t have a political representative, if such a person’s elected representative, is not vaccinated.
The rise of authoritarian ‘mandates,’ and repressive police state actions in Australia, has Blindspot ask whether the world did not learn anything from South Africa’s ugly ‘passbook’ history? Why is the world going back to the future of ‘passes’ - whether they are green, or blue, or intended to separate so-called whiteys from those apparently black?

As noted in Blindspot #012, Chinese pressure on Taiwan continues relentlessly. This at a time when the trans-Atlantic, post-WWII, strategic bromances between NATO members have not just been tested, but in actual fact totally destroyed by President Biden blind-siding the French out of a strategically significant nuclear submarine project due to be delivered to Australia.
The deck of Geopolitical cards is being shuffled, hands dealt in this high-stakes poker game reveal that island Western Europe is left all on its own.
The UK, USA, and Australia decided to gang up on China, on the other side of the planet. The announcement and unveiling of AUKUS - a strategic alliance between the USA, UK, and Australia, of course has the august purpose of consolidating their collective strategic posture in the Pacific region - facing China.
It is clear that the power relations that kept the post-WWII trans-Atlantic detente going, in the form of NATO (among others) have frayed, and snapped.
Europe will likely forge ahead with the further development of the concept of an integrated pan-European defence force having lost faith in the trustworthiness of the USA, as evidenced in its behaviour in Afghanistan, and in the case of side-lining the French.
Blindspot asks whether President Macron’s statement some time ago about NATO being “Braindead”, also applies to AUKUS? But, all jokes aside, AUKUS is likely a major nail in the coffin of NATO, while regional strategic balances of power continues shifting.
Blindspot #013 explores, in this context, the rise of Iran, through its formal ascension to full membership of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO).
The country has been patiently waiting in the wings, as observer, for ten years. Behind the AI policed headlines of mainstream media, Iran has stretched its influence into Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan, and other known-unknown hot sites of 21st century proxy wars such as Lebanon (of course), and Yemen.
If anything will be shown by history, it is that the fall of NATO in Afghanistan ushers in the emergence of Iran, as accepted, and strategic partner in the region. Major powers such as China, and Russia understand the significance of the Islamic Republic of Iran - and that, its reach- and influence, has significant sway in the region.

Blindspot wants you to see the world others don’t.
It would seem as if every possible thing that could generate bad news headlines, and extreme asymmetric risks- is doing exactly that.
While the broad daylight collapse of Evergrande, one of China’s major property developers may not be a blindspot, it should be said that the underlying political strategy by way of which China is managing this crisis is the blindspot to pay attention to.
A deeper strategic review of internal Chinese policy reveals that President Xi Jinping is focused on delivering on his ‘Common Prosperity’ campaign, which will inevitably lead to curbing- and reigning in anything from speculative capitalism, to gaming, effeminate men, and celebrity culture.
Asia Times, for example, argues that, “The pressures facing Evergrande and peers put nearly 30% of China’s $14 trillion economy at risk.”
China is not buying into the Wall Street Washington mantra that has the world believe there are some companies that are ‘too Big to Fail.’ China will most likely allow Evergrande to fail, while doing its best through other statist interventions, to cushion the fall-out, and somewhat soften the blow on firstly the domestic economy, global bond and stock markets.
As explored in Blindspot #006, Part 2, Will the Kabul syndrome hit a US (imperial collapse) dollar close to you soon?, it is necessary to see developments in China in the context of US inflation, and off-the-charts levels of ongoing QE (Quantitative Easing//Money Printing).
But, and this is a BIG but - the Evergrande slide began in 2020 when the Chinese government introduced policy measures to curb speculation in the country’s booming (and dismally over-leveraged) property sector, and also to bring sky-rocketing debt levels of property developers under control. It is argued that with Evergrande, an avalanche of bankruptcies in the property sector will follow.
Blindspot warns that Western market assumptions of companies being ‘too big, or too grand, to fail,’ will not fly in China.
Instead, as seen in 2019, reported by Shirley Yu, China nationalised 43 major corporates that were on the brink of financial collapse due to speculation, and reckless rodeo activities by the cowboys of China’s communistic form of capitalism.
The latter actions were not ‘bail outs’ like those seen in the USA and Europe post the 2008 GFC. No, it is a case of the state not bailing out, but nationalising over-indebted companies, imprisoning and criminally charging executives, and in most cases completely gutting, and erasing the very memory of such companies and their errant speculative ways.
Furthermore, Blindspot peaks at hints that recent incursions by Chinese military aircraft into Taiwanese airspace is a precursor to events that may unfold in 2022. It is speculated that China is currently strategically testing Taiwan, while holding back on major military actions. It may mobilise forces after hosting the 2022 Winter Olympics (February 2022, Beijing) to recover what it sees as an integral part of Chinese territory. Nudge nudge, wink, wink...
Tat-ta Taiwan!
With this in mind, Blindspot looks into the predictions made by Armstrong Economics pertaining to two forthcoming panic cycles in politics, being the year 2022, and 2024.
According to Armstrong Economics this will be the first occurrence of panic cycles in politics since the 1930s. The latter provides some food for thought, seeing that we know what the panic politics of the 1930s ultimately bled to… (say no more).
The small joke about phase three, of world war three, in a previous Blindspot, might not have been a joke after all...

—>> Why did the EU tell Russia, “Stay out - Africa is ours” <<—
Is the pot not perhaps calling the kettle black?
Blindspot wants you to see the world others don’t.
www.buiteboer.co.za
While the tectonic plates of geopolitics have shifted dramatically in Eurasia, the Middle East, and North Africa, as a result of the disastrous US ceding of Afghanistan to Taliban control, after twenty years of shooting itself in the foot, more tension filled geopolitical stand-offs are populating blindspots across the African continent.
In Blindspot #009 we covered Turkish African policy gambits, exposing how Turkish drones, and Islamist insurgent guns flown in from Syria, are propping up Tripoli’s UN-backed ‘transitional regime.’
On 25 September, 2021, the following headline appears on RT - “Lavrov says EU foreign policy head told him to STAY OUT of ‘our’ Africa, as he denies Moscow’s role in mercenaries invited to Mali”. Headlines such as these obscure and obfuscate much more than what they ‘reveal.’
During the Cold War era in South Africa there was a joke about a ‘red’, or ‘a communist’, that can be kicked out from behind just about any ordinary suburban bush. Well, of course the Western oriented Apartheid regime fuelled the fires of anti-Soviet fear mongering.
During the term in office of former President Trump, world news headlines were more often than not occupied by headlines regarding supposed ‘Russian elections meddling, and digital influence peddling.’ The latter has, of course, never been proven. But, in the domains of digitospheric dictatorships and totalitarian virality, nothing has to be proven, AI thought police systems just have to control and ‘boost’ or sink relative visibility of certain bits and bytes of pre-manipulated counter-truths.
If a lie is repeated enough times close to eyeballs and eardrums close to you, the counter-truth might just end up sticking around as ‘truth’ like an unwelcome fart drumming it out on a hard church bench.
Why is this relevant for Blindspot? Because the headline quoted above, about the EU foreign policy chief stating that ‘Africa is ours,’ happens in the context of a new wave of fear mongering hitting headlines across Africa, and close to eyeballs close to you, about the Wagner Group (A Russian private military company), and it’s apparent nefarious intensions and impact in African environments.
Blindspot contends that the shifting geopolitical tectonic plates of the turbulent twenties will inevitably lead to increased friction between belligerent external powers intent on keeping control over their slice of the African political-economic market- and most critically, natural resource pie!
In this edition, Blindspot takes you beyond the headline of the EU foreign policy chief, and looks at the stark reality of foreign military involvement, interference, and destabilisation of African polities.
When the latter stories are told, said, and done, it will be clear that if the EU foreign policy chief warns Russia’s foreign minister that, Africa is ours - stay out, that this is a case of the pot most definitely calling the kettle black.
When one tallies the deployments of US, and French foreign forces on the African continent alone, being mindful of the persistently dreadful legacy of European colonialism ever present in the African macro political-economy, then the EU is evidently posturing with their Knights in shining armour, Bishops of global governance law, Queens of multinational corporate interests, and Castles made of mud, on the grand Chess board of Africa.
Blindspot’s warning is - beware of EU foreign policy boys crying wolf, and more importantly, watch out for more geopolitical bullying tactics and foreign military antics on the lucrative, and strategically critical African chess board!

Posthuman Geopolitics & Drone Killshots
www.buiteboer.co.za
Blindspot wants you to see the world others don’t.
Blindspot zooms in on the the extraordinary changes unmanned weapons technologies have brought to public discourse, perception of war, the conduct of war, associated acts of gruesome murderous violence, as well as the extent to which unmanned weapons change geopolitical, strategic, military, intelligence, and security policy action-horizons of state actors. Blindspot argues that the implications of the latter can only be fully comprehended if underlying assumptions of posthumanism are exposed.
In order to eat a rather huge thematic elephant, edition #010 of Blindspot will take eyeballs close to you to see a world unhidden by any veil. Yet, while it lives out in the open - unmanned weapon system strikes emanate from an evolving global digital dictatorship that can dispatch death with the press of a convenient joystick button.
Blindspot argues that it is impossible to continue understanding contemporary conflicts, and implicitly geopolitics, without the introduction of the concept of the posthman into new lines of questioning on the Frankenstein machines proliferating on war fronts, and in countries close to eyeballs close to you.
Technologies of unmanned destruction are not just new ‘toys’ in the hands of armed forces. Note as well that the unmanned weapons race is not likely to be won by a rabbit, a tortoise, nor meat-instantiated humans.

Blindspot #009 - Turkey’s Africa Policy Gambits and the next US, World Civil War looming?
Blindspot wants you to see the world others don’t.

https://buiteboer.co.za/2021/09/14/blindspot-009-turkeys-africa-policy-gambits-the-next-us-and-world-civil-war-looming/
While the 24/7 ‘news’ snoozecast channels have been parading the memory of 9/11, it is most definitely for that reason unnecessary to waste valuable blindspot time on blindsided buildings. This week Blindspots abound on very many unseen 4D frontlines.
First off Blindspot picks up a thread from Armstrong Economics reflecting on simmering political tensions in the USA fuelled by the ongoing allegations that Donald Trump may indeed have been cheated out of the White House by the woke Biden camp. Martin Armstrong argues that,
“We are facing a GLOBAL separatist movement that is not confined to just the United States. Everywhere from North America to Europe and Asia there are signs of tremendous stress that is unfolding along historic lines of separation.”
In Blindspot #008 we covered ‘Frigmentation’ - a convergence of friction and fragmentation. Seems like Armstrong Economics is also identifying forces of fragmentation and separatist forces at work the world over. It is argued that the disputed 2020 election in the USA is fuelling political uncertainty and perhaps instability as angry MAGA-ists are still out in the political wilderness aiming to drain the Washington political swamp of the Biden-Clinton-Obama Antifa cancel culture policy mongers.
Africa remains a major stomping ground for global powers with vested geopolitical- and economic interests to safeguard, or expand. Usually such analyses would look into the ‘usual suspects’ with boots and guns on the ground to project influence, counter other geopolitical powers- and in the meantime rake in mega-profits through above- and below- board wheelings and corporate investment dealings.
France, the USA, the UK, and China would usually come to mind when raising the topic of external economic, political, military- and socio-cultural influence to maintain, protect, and expand on the geopolitical chess board of Africa.
But, this week we do not focus on the usual suspects, and choose the blindspot and very interesting case of Turkey that has quietly, since hosting its first Turkey-Africa Summit in 2008, expanded its reach, influence, and geopolitical strategy into Africa in a quietly impactful way.

BLINDSPOT #008 - The Searching for Madness in the Method 008.001 Special
Blindspot #008 - 8.9.21
Blindspot #008 still coming to eyeballs close to you from Bunker 42.
Searching for Madness in the Method Special Edition (008.001) Chapter 8 - What is Frigmentation then?
The Blindspot #008 Blog - https://buiteboer.co.za/2021/09/07/blindspot-008-the-searching-for-madness-in-the-method-008-001-special/
[Frigmentation is a condition unique to the twenty-first century, it is a portmenteau word, combining Friction and Fragmentation to yield - FRIGMENTATION]
Blindspot wants you to see the world others don’t. For this reason, edition #008 deliver a thinking tool to eyeballs close to you, to help on the path towards seeing the world other’s don’t.
This tool, extracted from a recent Buiteboer [aka Dr Petrus de Kock] book, Searching for Madness in the Method. This main title has a somewhat suggestive sub-title that encompasses the following words: this is not a Survival Guide to Autopilot’s Disease and the Turbulent Twenties of the Twenty-First Century. https://buiteboer.co.za/2021/08/09/searching-for-madness-in-the-method-2/
Through an exploration of the following stories Blindspot will engage with the potential meanings and implications of - FRIGMENTATION.
- SA - Constitutional Court rules local government elections to proceed as planned
- The interesting ‘belt’ of eastern, central- and north African countries not in the African Continental Free Trade Area (yet)
- The Guinea coup and the unravelling of a regime
- Protests in Canada, France, Australia, and the Netherlands against Health Pass Apartheid & biomedical tyranny
- South Africa’s vaccine ‘encouragement’ strategy - ‘More freedom coming your way… if…’
- And then the big story of the week - the Multipile manifestations of Frigmentation!
The reason Blindspot #008 decided to pause on a concept from Searching for Madness in the Method, is that in the past week mayhem spread across several jurisdictions such as France, Canada, the Netherlands, USA, and Australia as demonstrations against increasing covid-vaccine apartheid erupted.
All of the above point to cases of frigmentation at work. What risks, Blindspot asks, do individuals and citizens face as the Dictatorship of the Digitosphere, and the Digital Feudal Overlords clamp down on your material movements, as your mind is constantly scanned for errand thoughts hidden in your latest Fleisbook (aka Facebook) ’post’.

NEVERTHELESS... DON'T PANIC
Blindspot #007 has absolutely nothing to do with Her Majesty’s favourite under the cover(s) post-hero, Bond, James Bond, number double zero seven.
However, while we are on this topic, Blindspot #007 is indeed a fast paced ride down a few quick contemporary military strategic and covert operation/black-ops rabbit holes.
This week Blindspot plunges into the mind of the twentieth joint chiefs of staff boss in the USA (General Milley), not to be confused with mealies, but, he has suddenly started professing the need for the USA ground forces to prepare themselves for multi-domain large scale ground operations against potential enemies such as China, Iran, Russia, and North Korea.
It cancel cultures previous military doctrines obsessed with minimal boots on the ground- matched with maximum air- and tech superiority. Now all of a sudden ground hog grunts have to prepare for mass-scale operations aimed not at minimum boots on the ground, but maximum deployment of stinky sock meat forces.
A major blindspot, we ask?
Also Blindspot peaks down the rabbit hole of the use of chemical weapons in the war in Syria. Blindspot warns that multi-domain maximum war doctrines are going to be hitting screens and streets close to you sooner than you might think.
From Covert Action Magazine Blindspot also spots a fascinating analysis of the totally insane space-war plans and weapons being hatched in a United States of A- close to eyeballs close to you soon.
In Southern Africa Blindspot briefly returns to Zambia, now that the election is over and done, to ask - quo vadis for a country delivering copper to a world only now waking up to the fact that the EV- AI future of electricity and robotics will chow multi-millions of tons of copper cable. What do we expect from the resource rich, but epically poor country in the heart of Southern Africa? And, as always, Blindspot will surprise...

BLINDSPOT #006 - PROMO
Blindspot #006 Promo - brought to eyeballs close to you by -www.buiteboer.co.za
Explains that an abrupt editorial decision from Bunker 42 split edition #006 into two parts. The promo catches a comment regarding an imaginary diplomatic cable South Africa should be sending to the world - "Please do not invade us by land, sea, or air."
Watch the promo - and then later, Part 1, to learn more about this and the impending possible collapse of the US dollar, like its imperial forces, in Kabul.
Is the Kabul syndrome going to hit a US Dollar close to you soon?
While Blindspot #005’s common threads were found in the words vaccines, viruses, and the geopolitics of grand failures (meaning the USA’s grand failure in Afghanistan), delivery #006 brings the blindspotting eye to zoom in on market dynamics. This means Blindspot extends the virus theme beyond that of COVID, into the domains of markets infected by a money printing virus portending volatility at a scale that will make 2008’s global financial crisis look like a fender bender on the sidelines of a catastrophic highway pile-up crash. Blindspot asks what, in addition to the proverbial books, are cooking on the Wild West’s financial frontiers?

I - The US dollar and gold standard
Since the Second World War, the US dollar has been the anchor currency of global trade, with the US Federal Reserve as centrepiece of the global financial architecture - including western dominated Bretton Woods institutions, such as the International Monetary Fund. A watershed moment in that history was the decision to move the US dollar away from the gold standard in the early 1970s. Since then unbacked fiat currencies (with mysterious floating values) have blossomed and flowered. However, persistent money printing in the northern hemisphere (since 2008, and accelerating since the COVID pan(dem)ic erupted) is leading to a market crash of rather epic proportions.
Nevertheless, the little bit of ‘history’ above is relevant for the question as to whether the Kabul syndrome of imperial collapse, will be hitting a US dollar close to you soon. This is due to the fact that the world system is, in the turbulent twenties of this century, clearly at a major inflection point.
II - Is the US & NATO’s disgraceful Afghan departure ushering in the era of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation?
With the US/NATO disgracefully backing out of twenty years of shooting themselves in the foot in Afghanistan, it is clear that power dynamics on the multi-layered central Asian chessboard will tip decidedly in favour of nations that are members of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO). The Islamic Republic of Iran is an observer nation in the SCO context, and rumours indicate that there may be a strong push coming from China, to advocate for Iran to transition to full membership. This geopolitical context is critical in a period where US global ‘military prowess and power’ is exposed as nothing but empty posturing.
III - How will the Kabul syndrome manifest in the US dollar?
The Kabul syndrome of collapse, deceit, and defeat is manifesting in the US dollar as well. But how? It is in the inflation numbers that have been coming from the USA. While the mainstream press report on rising inflation in the USA, and UK, for example, but do not for a moment underestimate the monstrous risks chasing us in the economic blindspot.
Blindspot talks through the highlights of an extremely insightful article on goldmoney.com entitled: 2020 - 2022 vs 1929 - 1932. Some highlights from the article include:
“In the past I have compared the current market situation with 1929, when the US stock market suffered a major collapse that October. With memories short today, many will have even forgotten that between 12 February and 23 March last year the Dow Jones Industrial Index fell 38.4% top to bottom in less than six weeks, paralleling the 66% fall between 4 September and 13 November 1929 on an eerily similar timescale.”
“As the background to stock market trends, there is enough circumstantial evidence for us to assume that the world is on the brink of a major financial catastrophe. The list of negatives is growing. It started with the US repo market blow-up in September 2019, followed by the Dow losing 35% in nominal points between 10 February and 23 March 2020 (as pointed out above) before the Fed stepped in to rescue the stock market by cutting the funds rate to the zero bound and reinstating QE to the unprecedented extent of $120bn every month, along with several other market-enhancing measures. They worked. At least, that is, if you ignore the costs and consequences.”
David Goldman, recently reflected in an article on the Asia Times platform that the world has to prepare itself for persistent inflation in the US economy. He is of the view that regular economic commentary suggesting that inflation in the USA is a ‘temporary’ phenomenon, is nothing but part of a grand economic smoke & mirror numbers game.
Goldman argues: “The scare headline about Thursday’s Producer Price Index release said that the year-on-year jump of 7.7% was the biggest on record. That’s for the PPI “final demand” index, which starts in 2010, long after the horrendous inflation of the 1970s had become a distant memory.”
IV - How does this impact on South Africa?
Chris Harmse, from CH Economics, argues in an article entitled - US sneezes, South African markets catch a cold, that:
“…last week once again showed how vulnerable South African financial markets were to economic and geopolitical events in the US. The hawkish fashion in which the Federal Reserve Open Market Committee (FOMC) warned that the quantitative easing in the US (and the current record low bank rate) may come to an end sooner than later, had devastating effects on share prices in South Africa and the rand. The all share index fell 4.9 percent last week, its sharpest decline since the 15.2 percent decline during the first week of lockdown in March 2020. The rand had softened by 61c against the dollar last week from R14.70 the previous Friday, to R15.31.”
Clearly the threat of ‘tapering’ the QE printers in the USA had a direct and nearly immediate impact on the South African currency and economy. The major risk and blindspot to consider is the warning implied in the analyses shared here, being that a collapsed, or collapsing US dollar, can and will, like a black hole, suck all other fiat currencies with it down the toilet once the moment of collapse, retreat, and Kabul-style dollar defeat comes.
V - What to expect?
The time might be right for BRICS, and members of the African Continental Free Trade Area to seriously consider currency alternatives to the sinking US dollar ship.
And lastly, according to goldmoney.com, the best way to preserve wealth under such volatile market conditions is by holding physical silver, or gold.

BLINDSPOT #006 - PART I
Is the Kabul syndrome going to hit a US Dollar close to you soon?
But, let it firstly be understood that the invisible hand of the market might be exposed as the one stealing the milk from your coffee, with your lunch, while you’re looking.
And, the Afrikaans poet Breyten Breytenbach once proclaimed, through a character in one of his surreal stage plays, when the latter reflected on capitalism, that it is ultimately a system wherein Dog eats Dog and Cat and Mouse.
It so happens that the Blindspots identified on this platform, likewise called ‘Blindspot,’ somehow so far always coincide with imminent, actual or past disasters and catastrophes. Not that we like bad news, it is just that there is so little else but human, and good old ‘nature made’ disasters. One of Blindspot’s stories this week deal with the Constitutional Court of South Africa having to make up its very high legal mind as to the constitutionality of the Independent Electoral Commission’s (IEC) request for the postponement of local government elections scheduled for this year. Blindspot takes a look at a local governance- and potentially political disaster in the making.
While the above deals with a micro-political disaster of human making, the another major blindspot covered pertains to a historical drought and dwindling water resources that is leaving nearly 12 million citizens of Syria and Iraq with no access to water. Considering that Iraq has been as site of unilateral target practice by US military coalitions since Gulf War I, while neighbouring Syria has seen a similar fate since the so-called Arab Spring. In this case blindspot deals with a mixed-method disaster that encompasses both good old home made natural factors, combined with the outcomes of human warmongering and general folly.
Back in South Africa Blindspot can disclose how inoperable South African naval vessels, combine with recent news of Denel (the state arms manufacturer) being technically insolvent to deliver a yet another national security disaster. Blindspot also releases an imaginary diplomatic cable that should probably be shared with the world, just in case anyone out there has any ideas to try and invade and conquer the country by land, sea, or air.
And then, as for the Bull, the Bear, the Market special on whether the Kabul syndrome will hit a US dollar close to you soon, it is suggested you watch Edosipe 6 yourself, to see the world no-one else does.

Blindspot #005

What are we Blindspotting in Delivery #005?
On the heavier, and lighter side of vaccine politics, Blindspot shares a showdown between Arnold Schwarzenegger (The Terminator) and Alex Jones (Info Wars).
If what they’re saying is anything to go by, the USA might soon descend into not a MAGA-driven civil war, but indeed an anti-Globalist anti-Vaccine anti-Whoever is a needle wielding Terminator, uprising. Also, on the lighter side of vaccine politics, Blindspot shows how The Simpsons had very apparently achieved enlightenment long ago already, and that like their prediction of Trump becoming president, the Simpsons had also foretold the compulsory vaccine ‘death jab’.
This week’s Blindspots have three common threads: vaccines, viruses, and the geopolitics of grand failures.
The woke Club Western world is apparently shocked at the pace with which twenty years of US war in Afghanistan, training- and equipping of the official Afghan Defence force (counting about 300,000 men under arms), brought about, well, NOTHING. Afghan forces and militias allied to the government all but faded like mist before the rising sun as the Taliban emerged from caves and the fog of twenty years of US war gaming, while enriching only the Barons of the Military Industrial Complex.
Blindspot then takes this as a point of departure to look into two announcements, in first six months of this year, of US Special Forces, and Trainers, deploying to the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and Mozambique.
Here’s the Blindspot ‘million dollar question’: In 2001 Afghanistan was invaded to vanquish the Taliban ‘regime,’ find Al Qaeda (and Osama bin Laden), and to secure the USA against terror strikes similar to that of 9/11. Now, twenty years later, the USA is withdrawing, and the Taliban jumped back, fully formed, armed, and probably much more dangerous than ever. Is it just a Blindspot in thinking, to think that anything was achieved? Or, is the bigger goal a further expansion of the great North-African, Middle-Eastern, and Central Asian zone of Chaos and War by allowing Afghanistan’s puppet paper tiger state to collapse?
Nevertheless, this week we also Blindspot a question relating to the SputnikV vaccine, and South Africa’s strange choices regarding firstly not accepting a total of 20 million doses, available for South Africa , earlier in the year, only some months later to be followed by half baked plans to now perhaps procure SputnikV. The blindspot question is - is South Africa’s choice of vaccines perhaps not captured by big Pharma corporate lobbyists? Did South Africa not snub one of its BRICS partners by refusing the Russian offer, but instead to go with jabs like those produced by Johnson & Johnson? We do also note that SputnikV remains more than 90% effective against new variants of the Covid19 virus.
