Ukraine is a ‘gold mine’ we can’t afford to lose – US senator
Lindsey Graham has got some stones. Or, at least, wants them. Alabama Republican Tommy Tuberville went on Steve Bannon’s War Room to espouse a minority view in US politics: that none of this would have happened had NATO not expanded all the way to Russia’s borders, placed weapons on those borders, then began trying to do the same in Ukraine. Lindsey Graham, speaking to CBS’s Face the Nation, disagreed, saying that actually, this is all about the US wanting Ukraine’s rich mineral resources. To share, of course.
Graham was shown a clip of Tuberville’s remarks, and, upon seeing such a reasonable display of basic understanding, Graham flew into a fit of rage, launching into a tirade about what’s really going on in Ukraine. ‘They're sitting on 10-12 trillion dollars of critical minerals in Ukraine. They could be the richest country in all of Europe. We don't want to give that money and assets to Putin to share with China,’ said Graham.
But where does he want to give all of Ukraine’s wealth? Wall Street, that’s where. ‘If we help Ukraine now, they could become the best business partner we ever dreamed of. They're sitting on a gold mine.’ And as Rule of Acquisition 34 says, war is good for business.

Angry bull escapes rodeo ring, jumps into crowd
If you’re a bull, and those stupid 2-legged mammals you work with are all singing about ‘Murica’ and ‘freedom’ while waving lights and wearing parts of your extended family, what do you do? Clearly, the natural course of action is to say, ‘screw this, I’m having the evening off,’ and nope out of there.
That’s exactly what this bull did during a rodeo in Oregon on Saturday. Video from the crowd shows the bull running round looking increasingly pissed off, before clearing the fence and heading for the parking lot.
‘I capture him completely going over the gate and disappearing,’ the author of the video told local media. ‘Then there’s this huge pause in the zone he came out of. It seems like people go right back to waving their lights, almost like they’re not really sure what to do.’
Four people suffered minor injuries before the bull was captured again, but at least the crowd were able to carry on waving their lights, so freedom was safe for another day.

World’s first drone delivery made on Mt. Everest
Back in the good ol’ days, people stuck up a mountain without supplies just had to freeze to death and become a gruesome warning for others. But thanks to the marvels of modern technology, help is just a push of a button away. Chinese drone giant DJI has teamed up with Nepalese company Airlift and video production company 8KRAW to successfully make the world’s first drone deliveries to Mount Everest (known as Mount Qomolangma in China), paving the way for safer resupplying of Everest’s camps, and removing the enormous amount of garbage that now litters the side of the world’s tallest mountain.
DJI successfully flew three oxygen bottles and 1.5kg of supplies from Base Camp (at an altitude of 5,364m) to Camp 1 (at 6,000m), and then returned with a payload of trash. It’s expected that, once tests are finished, the drone could carry a payload of 15kg in just a 12-minute round trip, day or night. It ordinarily takes a Sherpa six to eight hours to make the same journey, through the treacherous Khumbu Icefall.

Nicaragua finally finds its largest pregnant woman
For the 21st year in a row, Nicaragua has been looking for its largest pregnant woman. The ‘Madre Panza’ (‘Belly Mother’) competition is held every year in the capital Managua on Mother’s Day to celebrate motherhood, and involves measuring bumps to see who is the most spectacularly pregnant.
This year’s winner was Ana del Pilar Peña Jarquín, who measured 55cm from sternum to pubis (the standard metric for pregnant women competitions), but she thinks the bump has got more growing to do yet. ‘I think my second belly was bigger because I am not even 8 months pregnant yet,’ she said. ‘My scheduled delivery date is June 14.’ Peña Jarquín was an outsider for the title, but romped home to victory after the two favorites both accidentally gave birth before the competition.
The event is organized by La Nueva Radio Ya and carries a small cash prize and a new washing machine.

Giraffe yanks toddler out of safari truck
A trip to a safari park turned a bit white-knuckle for a little girl at Fossil Rim Wildlife Center in Texas, when a giraffe decided she was extremely interesting. Two-year-old Paisley was trying to feed the giraffe from the back of a safari truck, when the giraffe picked her up and lifted her into the air.
Tragedy was averted, however, when the giraffe realized Paisley wasn’t the food bag and immediately put her back.
‘She wasn't even scared,’ said Paisley’s dad. ‘It scared me but after it was all over, we realized everyone was safe and unharmed, and we laughed about it.’ Paisley reportedly even chose a giraffe toy from the gift shop on the way out.
