Captured what I believe to be the first time and America's Cup catamaran was able to foil upwind for any length of time during practice before one of the qualifier races in Aug 2013. This is the last and fifth in a series from the Louis Vuitton Cup qualifiers for the 34th America's Cup. Again, to me as the filmer, some of the coolest footage ever from america's cup action. To be there in person, hear the creaking of the carbon fiber spaceships definitely adds to the experience !!! Hope these video's portray what these incredibly fast and giant sailing machines can do.

At bit of what 100 days in the woods looks like in my neck of the woods. Lots of mule deer, elk, moose and even a couple cougars at 6 yards make for some pretty exciting times.

Amazing times in the Uinta mountains archery hunting mtn goats. Not often you get to be in the middle of so many white critters at this. Back then it only took 7 points to draw this one. Now it's nearly unobtainable. Not sure if I'll ever get to do it, but this is a spot I'll be scouting for sure if I do.

Fourth in a series from Aug of 2013 of Emirates Team New Zealand practicing in the San Francisco bay for the 34th America's Cup - Louis Vuitton Cup. ENTZ was the first team to sort out how to get the giant America's Cup catamarans to fly completely on foils. They nearly destroyed Oracle Team USA 9-1, but as fortune would have it their last win came minutes after the time limit set years before came into effect. Oracle Team USA won 8 straight from there to take a miraculous 34th America's Cup, making for one of the craziest sporting events in history. This is a video that shows why ENTZ was "the team to beat" and subsequently won the 35th America's Cup, taking the cup back to New Zealand. Professionalism in every way !!!

This is the third in a series from San Francisco filming the amazing catamarans racing for the 34th America's cup. Actual race footage and a sequence of putting together one of the giant catamarans with cranes to ready them for each days racing. Shot with the giant 600mm and Panasonic G6 filming in 1080-60p to show the build and action as close up as was possible in mid 2013 !!!

This is the second in a series from San Francisco filming the amazing catamarans racing for the 34th America's cup. After a tragic crash and death of their team member Andrew Simpson from a capsize in practice, Artemis Racing was able to come back and compete closely with the other teams in the Louis Vuitton Cup to challenge Oracle Team USA Actual race footage with the giant 600mm and Panasonic G6 filming in 1080-60p shows some of skipper Natan Outteridge's rather aggressive tactics !!!

When my first grand daughter was born in 2013, I was fortunate to be able hang out in San Francisco to watch a bunch of the Louis Vuitton Cup in person. Most days I was able to head out the America's Cup park and or Chrissy Field in San Francisco to film the incredible and giant catamarans flying on foils at up to 50 mph Needless to say the America's Cup 34 was one of the most exciting sporting events in history. Oracle Team USA was able to come back from a an 1-8 margin to win the cup 9-8 These practice session for Oracle Team USA were pretty extraordinary to see with the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz Island in the background !!

This one was unfinished, but has some incredible footage of Unobtanium from 2011 and 2012. Found his sheds again in March 2012. Did Lots of preparations with friends for a season where goals were not obtained :) Some of the best footage of Unobtanium I ever captured. Just couldn't turn that bugger up for all of the 2012 season until the very last week of the extended archery hunt. Have some great footage when I found his deadhead in March 2013. Also more getting to pick up and keep his horns with officer Mike Rasch of the Utah DWR. Couldn't find the wherewithal to put it all together and kind of left this one hanging at that point. Not much to be said for the next season without him roaming the hills :(
