In this fishing video we go river fishing in the dark and catch three Michigan master angler fish three different species. Highwater river fishing can often be a challenge and a frustration but one thing I like to do when dealing with Highwater river fishing Conditions is to do some Highwater river cat fishing. Catfish respond well two cent so live bait when the water is high is an excellent way I have luring fish into you when they might otherwise be too difficult to get to with Lures. In the summer when it is hot I prefer to go river fishing in the dark and avoid the sunburn. When fishing at night it is best to target species that are active in the dark. When river fishing in the dark the first thing I think of is catfish and walleye. The next thing that comes to mind is gar and Bess often or active at night as well. And as you can see from this video carp and catfish are still out looking for something to eat in Highwater river conditions. And this night we managed a Michigan master angler flat head catfish as well as the Michigan master angler channel catfish and a Michigan master angler carp as well as a few other smaller fish. I actually had extremely low expectations for the night because of the Highwater river conditions. We just got several weeks of rain daily and there was flooding all across the state. So it was Highwater river fishing or no fishing lol. The flat head catfish is among my favorite fish to catch and I love flat head catfish fishing. I occasionally catch a flat head catfish and Lewers but usually if I am intentionally targeting flat head catfish I will fish with live bait and especially in Highwater river fishing situations like this. Every once in a while a big channel catfish can you put up a pretty epic fight as well and I enjoy targeting channel catfish as well. Channel catfish fishing is by comparison much easier as channel catfish and have it just about any part of the river and are easy to find. Flat head catfish or a little more particular and a little trickier to find. The flat head catfish fight is among the best fish battles I have had the pleasure of experiencing and they are right up there with king salmon in my book as far as power. So it was a treat to catch several master angler catfish this evening but the big surprise came when Jason caught a Michigan master angler carp and a live bluegill. I definitely target cart with live bait but usually live bait for a car means worms or tiny minnows so we were both a bit surprised to see a big Michigan carp eating a 4 inch bluegill.
