Fertilizer labels give us 2, sometimes 3 forms of Nitrogen. I hope to simplify what each of these Nitrogen forms are for, what they do pH wise in the pots of our orchids, and most importantly, shed some light on the subject of Nitrogen in the Urea form and whether it is possible for our orchids to absorb this form of nitrogen. In addition to that I touch upon the subject of using Nitrogen as the base line, ppm, when mixing up a fertilizer solution and what that would mean for an orchid collection, taking several points into consideration. What happens if I over fertilize my orchids with Nitrogen?
