Can my biggest pond fill up in 12 hours? Pond build follow up after heavy rains.
There are 5 different things that can fail in this pond build! Join me for a follow up look, where you will see it when I do if this biggest pond build for me is full, empty, washed out, leaking, or failing in some other way! Or, contrary to some naysayers could it be completely full in just a matter of hours? Today, after several heavy thunderstorms we'll take a walk and check out the new pond! If you have not seen this mini series here is the link to the playlist just for this land clearing and pond build:

DAY 6 of this new pond project with my new 36 inch mini excavator digging bucket, aka 'the Godzilla bucket,' and my bobcat e42 R series mini excavator. Join me in the mini series playlist for some time lapse videos, continue to build the footprint of this pond larger, work on leveling the entire pond dam, connecting the new section that I built today with the section from the last episode, get down inside of the pond and start grading and compacting the inside of the new pond, and then run the laser level to mark out the new future water levels, and start to put in the 3 overflow pipes for this beautiful future pond! This pond building project is part of a larger land management plan that Mark has been implementing on his rural Southern Illinois farm for the last several years now. This pond will accomplish several goals: A) divert a runoff ditch from a farm field into this pond, which will dry up a part of the farm field. B) catch water from another major ditch runoff and slow the water and erosion below the new pond. C) Create a new crossing with a culvert pipe around the pond. And D) Will create a new permanent watering source for wildlife diversity. I hope you enjoy this project and stay tuned for the next parts coming out very soon.
