The Brazilian tapir or simply tapir (scientific name: Tapirus terrestris), is the largest land mammal in Brazil and the second in South America, weighing up to 300 kilograms and 242 centimeters in length. It differs from other species of the genus Tapirus in having a sagittal observation crest and a mane. Presents a probability, which is used to last. It is the last animal of the Amazon megafauna and has a frugivorous diet, playing an important role in seed dispersal, mainly of palm trees.
