A dump truck driver was shot in the leg in what police are describing as a road rage incident on Wednesday in Raliegh, North Carolina.

According to police, the dump truck driver allegedly cut off a driver in a VW Passat. That driver followed the trucker, and when he stopped, a verbal altercation between the two took place. According to a video shared on Facebook, the driver of the VW Passat was walking back to his car, while appearing to holster a weapon in the small of his back. As he sits down in the driver’s seat, gunshots are heard and the video appears to show the driver’s side door window breaking from gunfire.

Then a man wearing a fluorescent yellow shirt enters the video frame and appears to be shooting a firearm at the driver of the Passat. At some point, the driver of the Passat fires back at the man, hitting him in the leg. As the person behind the camera ducks down, several other gunshots are heard.

According to police, the dump truck driver, identified as Sylvester Stokes, 52, of Lucama suffered a gunshot wound to the leg. He was treated at a local hospital and then arrested and charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill and possession of a firearm by a felon. There is no word on whether the other driver was charged in the road rage incident.

Police say the incident is still under investigation.
