A Deltona man was arrested Monday after tackling a deputy who showed up to break up a fight in the street.

The deputy wasn't injured and had 22-year-old Russell Slimon in handcuffs after about a minute.

The fight was reported by a caller who indicated a gun may be involved. After the dust settled, deputies determined Slimon had wrapped a leash around one victim's neck, pulled him off a barstool, choked his mother and also attacked four others during the incident.

He's charged with aggravated battery, felony domestic battery by strangulation, misdemeanor battery, two counts of battery on a law enforcement officer, two counts of resisting with violence, and three counts of child abuse without great harm.
