The WEIRDEST, GLAMMIEST Electric Guitar of the 1970s - The Ace Frehley Breadwinner Model

In this video we'll follow the repair, maintenance, and makeover of a 1972 Ovation Breadwinner. This is the same model used by Ace Frehley on the recording of the first KISS album. It was also used by the likes of Marc Bolan of T-Rex, Björn Ulvaeus of ABBA, and David Cassidy of The Partridge Family. This one belongs to Matthew Melton, current guitarist, singer, and songwriter for Dream Machine, formerly of Warm Soda and Bare Wires. This one would need a complete rewire, including a single 1970s Dimarzio Dual Sound Super Distortion pickup to replace the original single coil toroidal dual pickup configuration. We'll also do some fretwork and setup work and take a little history lesson on this little-known 1970s oddball.
