Armstrong: Postal issues are chronic. Bringing it up now is political theater.

Congressman Kelly Armstrong (R, N.D.) in a speech on the House floor blasted Democrats for ignoring issues with the postal service for the last two years only to bring it up for political reasons.

“Google postal problems in any jurisdiction from one end of this country to the other and you know they’ve existed before,” Armstrong said. “We are doing this in a way that is completely and utterly political theater. Because anybody who's been paying attention knows that the post office problems are chronic, they're not acute. They've lost $70 billion since 2007 and they lost $9 billion in 2019.”

“You know how important this has been to the Oversight Committee? Our last full hearing on the postal service was in April of 2019,” Armstrong said. “So my question is, why haven’t we been having hearings in Oversight for the two years I’ve been here?”
