My Buddy Jason Gets his first 2 flathead catfish and they are both master angler size flathead catfish! We went night fishing and broke out some night crawlers and ended up slaying Carp and Flathead Catfish! River fishing for flathead catfish is new territory for both of us and neither of us had ever targeted flathead catfish before. I had previously only ever caught 1 flathead catfish and it was while targeting salmon. Flathead catfish are so much fun to fight. They don't jump like a bass or steelhead but the tug of a flathead is something you have to feel to to fathom. Big catfish have already proven addictive as we went out to intentionally target them again 2 days later. The monster flathead catfish of the night was 36 inches long and by our guess about 23 lbs. Jason Is Hooked I am Hooked and the fish were and will be hooked. Our second trip for flathead catfish resulted in 2 more 28-30 inch flatheads as well as one monster flathead cat that snapped the line...

River fishing for flathead catfish is going to suck me in probably because Night fishing for Monster flatheads is a rush! stay tuned as I will be delivering more Michigan flathead catfish fishing videos.

Reel Michigan Anglers is a personal passion and my gift to fellow fisherman. In the future I hope to do more informational fishing videos and cover different types of fishing all across the great state of Michigan. My goal, time permitting is to fish as many different bodies of water for as many different fish species as I can get my hands on. I am a Lansing Michigan resident working towards transferring to MSU for Fisheries and wildlife. My goal is to expand operations and bring more educational and entertaining fishing videos to my subscribers. In the meantime you can count on me for the occasional video outlining the the techniques and areas I fish for Bass, Pike, Walleye, Steelhead, Salmon, Trout, Carp, Suckers, Catfish and Panfish ect. You can see additional videos and other fun fishing related info on my facebook page https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?... I Wouldn't be the fisherman I am today without other fisherman who taught me the things I know and I am a firm believer that the sport and conservation of fishing in Michigan is better when we share it with one another. Wether your trying to lean a new spot to fish, a new crank bait to try, advise on what fishing rod to use, what fishing line to use, what color spinner a coho likes, what color jig a steelhead prefers, how to rig live bait, match the hatch, understand fish migration, the effects of barometric pressure or any other aspect of fishing the best way to learn is from other fisherman. That combined with trial and error and pure time spent on the water is the key to improving your fishing game. The better you get the more fun it is and the more we share the fun with others the more future generations will benefit from it. My goal is to kickstart that process by giving you loads of tips for fisherman, easy fishing tips for beginners, Best lure recommendations, How to fishing videos, how to rig videos, and other cool fishing videos. I will take you on a visual tour of fishing destinations you may wish to try, show you how I rig my rods, show you what lures I use to catch fish, What fish I target during the various seasons and how I target them. Budget friendly fishing gear reviews are another thing I plan to continue to deliver.
