STOVES, FERRO RODS & RAINY DAYS
Most people fall into two camps, bush craft and ferro rods or high tech and camp stove.
We don’t think the two are mutually exclusive.
You should always carry a ferro rod, like the DU Fire Steel, with you in the bush, whether you plan on building a campfire or using a stove. Matches and lighters will let you down in wet and windy weather. Ferro rods were made for exactly these rough conditions.
Make sure you wipe your fire steel dry, get a couple of good sparks off of it, turn on the gas and hit it with a few spark showers. In no time, as Australians say, you’ll be “cooking with gas!”.
There is nothing hits the spot like a hot cup of coffee or warm cup of soup after getting soaked on an adventure!
