Plants vs Zombies 2 - Penny's Pursuit - Tiger Grass - July 2022

This Penny's quest focuses on the Core plant Tiger Grass and was offered between July 13, 2022 and July 20, 2022.

Tiger Grass is a member of the Enforce-Mint family.
Costs 150 Sun - (125 at level 2 and 100 at level 5)
When a zombie gets within 4 tiles, a tiger will leap out of the grass and attack the zombie.
This tiger will do 40 damage. (+10 per level)
This tiger regenerates health at 70 per second (+15 per level) every 6 seconds (5 at level 2 and 4 at level 6)
Every 25 seconds (23 at level 2 and -1 second thereafter) this tiger will grow. Each growth will do 1.75x damage and the tiger will have 1.75x health. The visual cues max out at stage 3.
If the tiger gets defeated, another one will spawn at stage growth.

Commentary:
This is a better plant than may be realized.
It has a longer reach than other melee plants like Bonk Choy or Pokra.
Tiger Grass costs less than Pokra and the same as Bonk Choy
Tiger Grass can handle zombies others can not - like Jester which reflects projectiles or Excavator which blocks projectiles.
Tiger Grass synergizes well with Enforce-Mint - which shrinks zombies so they take double damage and deal half damage.
Two or three columns of Tiger Grass can be a winning lawn setup.
Tiger Grass is one of the few plants which does not mind plant food early in a level.

Bottom Line:
This is one of those tweaner plants. Not quite offensive like Pokra but not exactly defensive either like a Nut. Hiding a Tiger Grass or two behind a nut is an excellent way to fend off zombies. But one must be careful as a defeated tiger provides no benefit for the player or to Dave and his lawn.
