Eight killed in hotel fire in Latvia's capital

A fire broke out in a family hotel in the center of Riga, the capital of Latvia, in the early morning of the 28th, killing 8 people.
According to the Latvian National Fire and Rescue Bureau, the fire department received an alarm at around 5:00 on the 28th local time. Firefighters rushed to the scene and found the remains of 8 victims in a seven-story building that was on fire. Six other injured were taken to hospital and 20 were moved to safety. Local media reported that the building that caught fire was a family hotel.
It is understood that most of the hotel guests are foreigners.
According to local media reports, the fire area of the building was about 250 square meters, and the fire has now been extinguished.
