Violent clashes at funeral of Al Jazeera journalist killed, Israeli police shove mourners
According to the US CBS (CBS) report, on the 13th local time in Jerusalem, there were violent clashes at the funeral of Al Jazeera female reporter Shirin Abu Aklih. Israeli police confronted Palestinian mourners. Al Jazeera broadcast footage reportedly showed Israeli riot police shoving mourners outside the hospital and using tear gas as Aklih's coffin was being carried out of the hospital's mortuary. The coffin nearly slipped to the ground at one point in the chaos, and projectiles could be seen in the air as Palestinians chanted anti-Israel slogans.
Al Jazeera said Israel had warned Aklih's brother to limit the size of his funeral procession and told him not to display the Palestinian flag or chanting slogans, CBS said.
