12-08-19. Join me for some fresh air, some fun, some frustrations, the Polaris XP 1000 Northstar, and the Bobcat excavator to try and salvage the duck impoundment food plot and start getting it filled with water! This is property management in the real world, trying to expand our outdoor channel opportunities for some possible duck hunting and waterfowl enjoyment on our Southern Illinois farm homestead. I planted the duck food plot this summer in a mix of Milo and millet so now it is ready to be flooded! Or is it?? As usual, I was supposed to do some more work this summer beefing up the duck impoundment food plot dam and I never got around to it! This might come back to haunt me! Who says land management is always a success!? So, today I opened up the Pond water supply and started filling the duck pond only to find out that indeed, I needed some more height on the duck pond dam! So, after I got it half filled with water I broke out the Bobcat excavator and started building an emergency pond dam by scabbing dirt from wherever I could get it to beef up the duck plot dam so that I could get the duck food plot filled with enough water! OH, also I'll add a few cool drone videos with the DJI phantom 4 pro of the 2019 Polaris Ranger XP 1000 Northstar in action. Thanks for joining me today, be sure to stay tuned to PART 2, as I complete the water filling process and get the duck pond food plot completely filled and see if we can draw in some ducks this fall! Thanks. Kapper Outdoors, living the dream, one acre at a time.
