So what I want to talk to you guys today about is how to best vent your tires to to prevent your entire foams from rotting, getting moisture in there. And this process is something that I've used for a while and is extremely beneficial. I've never had a tire foam go bad since using this process. So we're going to dig into that right after this.
All right. So to vent your tires properly, you're going to need a couple things. First, you're going to need some little electrical tape, some sort of electrical tape. You need a razor blade you're going to need your tire I need a little piece of copper tubing. And you can get this at Lowe's or Menards or your local hardware store, Home Depot, maybe if you have that.
And then you're going to need a drill So first and foremost, what we're going to do is we got to cover the holes in the rim of the tire so we got to cover these up. And to do that, we're just going to take a little piece of electrical tape to do that. the inner vents covered. So now we need a place for air to escape, to prevent ballooning.
We need a place for it to go out. When you have the centrifugal force of the tire spinning around. Right. So that's where the copper piece and the drill comes in handy. Now, I just got a little bit a piece off of big copper chunk that I bought, maybe a foot long trunk that I bought, and I cut off a couple inches here so I can get it in my drill and still get through the rubber of the tire.
So if you're getting value out of this video so far, are just generally interested in what's going on. Don't forget to hit that like button and subscribe to the channel if you haven't. Well, I go ahead and put this copper piece in my drill and excuse my phone work. Seems to think that they need to get a hold of me this early in the morning.
So now you got your copper piece secured in your drill just like that. I mean, I go ahead and tighten it up and then you just want to make sure they're spinning pretty straight and you want to take your razor blade and just kind of go around the inside of it to get all the birds off of it.
So you can just kind of put it in there so that against the edge and turn and drill on it just real slow. It's going to sharpen it up for you and take burns off. I like to do the outside to get anything. I I've done a couple tires with this already. I always sharpen it beforehand. So we have a nice, sharp edge.
Now, what do you want to do? I always go one side. You got your where they put the tire together. You're seam right down the middle here. I always pick right on the side of it and I just put my drill on against like that. And then you're just going to give it a quick blip, full speed because it needs really fast, high power just a punch through there.
But you don't want to put a lot of pressure on because you don't want to go in and tear up the foam. You just want to get passed right through this rubber and you will feel it operate through the rubber. There and we are.
So now we have a nice little hole right in there. So you can see I don't know if you see it on the camera, but there's a hole there. So now I'm going to flip the tire 180 degrees and I'm going to do the other side and we're through. And that side, I went a little too deep, so I spent a little bit too much pressure on went right in through the pump, which is okay.
It'll be fine. It'll be fine. But now when we have this on there, if we're driving along and we soak up any water when you're spinning the tires out, it's going to expel it out of those holes. It's also help prevent ballooning and destroying your tires as well. Now, I've had a ton of success with this. I've never blown up a tire.
I've never had any foam going bad. So I've had a lot of success and venting my tires this way. So if you do it this way, to let me know down in the comments below, if you don't do it this way, hopefully you you learn something new and you give it a try. It's really cheap. It's easy. It's quick.
And it's going to save you some money in the long run with replacing tires.
