The Dallas Cowboys’ 53-man roster is set after Mike McCarthy, Stephen Jones, Jerry Jones and Will McClay made their initial Cowboys roster cuts today. Dallas Cowboys roster cuts included a few surprise moves. Brett Maher and Cooper Rush have been released, as well as Will Grier, Ben DiNucci, Storey Jackson, Big Kat Bryant, Malik Davis, Brandon Smith and others. But that doesn’t mean those players won’t return to the Cowboys roster or practice squad.

Cowboys cuts:
Will Grier (QB)
Isaac Alarcon (OL)
Brandon Smith (WR)
Malik Jefferson (LB)
Sean McKeon (TE)
Malik Davis (RB)
Tyler Coyle (S)
Storey Jackson (LB)
Mika Tafua (DE)
Carlos Watkins (DL)
Josiah Bronson (DT)
Alec Lindstrom (OL)
Dontario Drummond (WR)
Braylon Jones (OL)
Aviante Collins (OL)
Ben DiNucci (QB)
T.J. Vasher (WR)
James Empey (OL)
Amon Simon (OT)
Big Kat Bryant (DE)

The NFL cut deadline is Tuesday, August 30th at 4pm ET. The Cowboys have plenty of roster cuts to make and although many of the cuts today will end up on the Cowboys practice squad, it is difficult trimming the roster down to 53 players.
