The diesel extraction of the ship 'OS 35' reaches 20% in the first hours of pumping
The device enabled by Gibraltar to extract all the cargo from the bulk carrier OS 35, which since the early morning of August 30 has remained semi-sunken in waters near the colony after colliding with another ship, has managed to extract a fifth of the diesel contained in the tanks in the first hours of operations.

This was announced by the Government of Gibraltar in a statement after a meeting of its authorities to monitor the operation. This fifth part is equivalent to 53 cubic meters, according to the Executive of the colony.

The extraction plan estimates that most of the diesel will be extracted on Friday morning, since the reports received by the port captain indicate that operations may continue during Thursday night and early Friday morning.

The OS35 was carrying 215 tons of heavy fuel oil, 250 tons of diesel and 27 tons of lubricating oil at the time of its grounding.
