The cause of urban renewal has proceeded with great pace and success among the more antiquated neighbourhoods of downtown Chongqing, a process which has transformed once sub-standard residential areas into beautifully landscaped and high quality living environments.

Super 80s Street is a residential neighbourhood in Chongqing Nan'an District which is home to the largest concentration of 1980s era buildings, and so renovation in the area was themed on the designs and colours associated with this time in history.

During a walk through two kilometres worth of streets and alleyways, you can gain a sense of what the area once looked like back in the 1980s, and admire public sculptures and ornaments depicting memorabilia such as old fashioned televisions, stereos and alarm clocks.
