THIS Is Why You Need To Stay AWAY From The Dark Web

In today’s video, we’re going to talk about the biggest marketplace in the world, and no, we don’t mean Amazon. It’s a place most people have heard of but many are too scared to go. And for good reason. Welcome to the Dark Web.

What’s the Dark Web?

Chrome, Safari, Firefox, even Microsoft Edge. Normally, for everyday use, we use web browsers like these to navigate the internet. To get around. To do research. Connect with friends. Apply for jobs And share pictures of our family vacations.

These are the browsers everybody uses, but they don’t safely cover everything that’s on the internet. Think of these browsers like the map that you’d find at a shopping mall. It tells you where the stores are... where the kiosks are... where the bathrooms are.... But…what it doesn’t show you, in the alleyway behind the mall. This is a, sometimes, scary area where other things are being bought and sold. The things that you won’t find at Bloomingdale’s or Auntie Anne’s Pretzels.

To get to the Dark Web, you need specific browsers and search engines designed to grant you safe, anonymous access to these illicit sites.
First, there’s the Deep Web, and then there’s the Dark Web. The Deep Web is not the same thing as the Dark Web. There’s a difference. The Deep Web is everything that you can’t find just by using a browser. And It’s not necessarily illegal.

For example... do you have a Netflix account? An email account? Have you ever make a login for any site, ever? Surprise! You’ve been to the Deep Web. You can’t find your email inbox, or your specific netflix account, by Googling it. You need to have special permission to go there. That’s what makes the Deep Web different from the Surface Web.

So, what’s the Dark Web? Well, the Dark Web is a small part of the Deep Web. The Dark Web is the shady, illegal stuff that goes on in pockets of the Deep Web. The Dark Web is everything that the Clearnet (Clearnet = normal internet), is not.

To safely browse the Dark Web, users need special browsers. Browsers that help them stay anonymous through a process called onion routing. Onion routing uses different levels of encryption, like the layers of an onion, the keep users as anonymous as possible while they do...whatever they plan on doing on the dark web. That’s why so many Dark Web users actually call the Dark Web…”onionland”.

What’s on the Dark Web?

What can you find in onionland? Well, the faster way to answer that question is to ask what can’t you find in onionland?

Let’s start with the lighthearted. The positive. Lots of Clearnet sites also have a dark net site. Lets take the BBC for example, or any news site really. Lots of the news sites that you know and love have darknet sites. Why? Mainly so that people who live in repressive governments can still have a way access the news. Then there’s social media, chat rooms, and the fun places to illegally download games, music, movies, and tv shows.

Why would someone make a social media page or chat room on the dark web?

Same reason anybody goes there. Anonymity. When was the last time you were able to chat online with someone else and neither of you had to enter your email address, or a phone number or even a name? When was the last time you had a truly anonymous conversation with anyone at all? That’s the appeal of Torbook, Blackbook, TapIIN, and other dark web social media sites.

But, thiiis is pretty much where the positives of the dark net end. The most famous use of the dark web is unfortunately also one of the biggest reasons it exists. Extreme and illicit content. The dark net makes people untraceable. Anonymous. And what are people when they’re anonymous? … They are Themselves. Their true selves.

And some people are sick. Twisted. They wouldn’t let this side of themselves show out in public but in the privacy and anonymity of their own dark web browsers, they let their sinful selves flourish.

Anything and everything you associate with the words “illicit” or “extreme” can be found on the dark web.

Usually locked away in forums and not necessarily on the main page of a dark site, but the worst cruelty you can imagine is visible and accessible.
Things like child pornography, terrorist violence, animal cruelty, and even hitmen for hire.

Luckily even though these things are on the dark web, they’re routinely taken down by the FBI or whatever law enforcement agency has jurisdiction.

While there are some dark web uses that could be seen as beneficial: free subscriptions, news your corrupt government doesn’t want you to know about, the majority of the dark web is just plain evil.

The worst shadiest criminals in the world are on the dark web. With that comes the increased risk that even if you have the best intentions in the world, if you’re strolling through a marketplace full of crime, you might find yourself becoming a target.
