I am desperately trying to get the word out and raise support for the below dire problem my brother has found himself in...
Brother (on disability pension due to a couple accidents he sustained about 12 years ago) Took truck to Canberra in the Feb 12th Convoy.
Targeted by AFP.
Arrested.
Trumped up charges amounting to 20yrs (started as just 3 traffic offences)
$200k Truck (his only real possession) confiscated.
AFP trying to seize & crush.
AFP & DPP behaving viciously and corrupt/politically motivated.
Due to these added charges, now needs to go to Supreme Court.
AFP/DPP have been successful in their court order for restraint of the truck with the intent to seize permanently.
Additional charges were added about 7 or 8 weeks after the fact to shore up seizure of truck and it seems to drive up his defence costs.
Lawyers now estimate approx $100k to fight through what they think maybe a 3 day trial. But won't do any more on case until paid the current $13k owed. (Paid out $8,500 so far)
Two weeks ago, court gave a 3 week adjournment but court intend to then list it for supreme Court at that next hearing (June 14th).
BUT... Lawyers have now stopped doing anything further on case due to us being behind on their bill and I don't have the funds and Paul is on a pension with zero spare funds as he had put every cent into the truck - even sold his TV a couple weeks before going down to Canberra.

My brother went down with a great group in a Convoy that started in North Qld, arriving Thur night at Epic.
He was involved in the March on the Saturday and wound up getting targeted by the AFP and according to a few witnesses, quite possibly an intentional setup.

He was a part of the march with a couple of other trucks - including one of the stage trucks.
He got separated from other trucks and was then approached by Aussie Cossack who asked him to head further up the main road towards parliament and the top stage (where he was intending to go).

After initially being directed through by police, confusion arose further along and Police had mixed plans it seems, then his window smashed, pepper sprayed and an hour later they decided to arrest him and confiscate the truck.

Some people in the scene, seem to think he was involved with the Cossack, but in actual fact he had never met, nor had anything to do with him prior to the Cossack approaching him enroute and saying he should take a different route to the top stage (my brother only offered to do so as he thought he had been told they were authorised to travel along that route - I think this might have been a miscommunication or misunderstanding).
The AFP claim he drove through multiple barricades, but Paul and about 5 witnesses we have spoken to have all said they didn't see any barricades. Apparently there was a set of barricades off the side of the road that had either been out, then removed or hadn't been put out.

He was charged with mostly minor traffic offences and the truck impounded.

The AFP/DPP have now stepped up their attack and a few weeks ago added two more charges (trumped up) with one carrying a higher penalty than manslaughter! Of course the charge is meant to be used in totally different circumstances, but that doesn't stop them throwing it at him to try and destroy him and drive up his defence costs!
...But even more so, we believe it was to prevent the release request for the truck. In fact they are trying to prevent him ever getting it back, and talk is, they want to crush it so it is never seen to represent freedom again.

We had a submission to the magistrate for urgent release of the truck as it's about to bankrupt a local Gold Coast Feature Film production that is 70% through filming that had cast the truck in it. The film is privately funded by a number of Mum and Dad supporters and a couple local executive producers. Total losses for all of them will be about $1,000,000. On top of that it is likely to have a negative effect on the potential careers of half a dozen child and teenage actors (it is a children's film).
That is aside from all the other jobs, shows, events and sponsorship commitments he hasn't been able to do with truck not available.

My brother is on a disability pension (due to a couple accidents he sustained about 12 years ago), so I have been trying to raise funds where we can for legals, and we are very grateful to all of those who have helped already!

He had put everything he owned into the truck to setup a Chauffeur business on the Gold Coast so he could afford rent and cover his medical costs (which his pension doesn't cover). He had even sold his TV a couple weeks before Canberra to get business ready to launch. The truck is $200k to replace - and is now at risk of being lost completely.

That's a bit of a run down of the challenges we are trying to deal with.

We are desperate to get the word out now and try and get some support for the fight. If we don't, the first everyone will hear about this will be once he's been put away and his case used to stop others standing up.

Currently we have paid out about $8k in legals with an invoice of over $13k overdue that I can't pay. So I am desperate to also raise some funds towards this bill and the cost of legals with his court date being in two weeks.

We have setup a crowdfunding campaign to hopefully raise some support in this regard, but desperately trying to find ways to get the word out in a big way to garner support - not only financial, but so people know what is going on and how badly things have gone for what was a well intentioned endeavour.
