Great White Shark escorted by Pilot Fish

The video was taken in the waters off Guadalupe Island. This Great White Shark is escorted by a school of pilot fish. I guess he is a messy eater.Show more

Great white sharks migrate past Guadalupe Island annually to feed on juvenile elephant seals. Elephant seals use the island as a nursery in the summer and early fall and that is when the great white sharks are there. Male great white sharks have two long things hanging out (claspers). The females are typically bigger than the males and typically have mating scars (unlike males).
