The only supplement I give my raw fed cat

I used to give my raw fed cat so many supplements. Premixes, herbs, probiotics, colostrum, the list goes on. Now just this 1.

I'm taking a step back and asking myself, "Do all of these supplements make sense?"

Not really.

Wild cats consume 5-7 different proteins and munch on grasses here and there.

So I am ditching all supplements except this 1. Because I believe a variety of proteins including whole prey will even itself out.

So why algae?

Algae supplements provide a wide variety of nutrients, and it's easy to digest.

Algae are essentially a whole food supplement all in one.
Amino acids
Enzymes
Vitamins
Trace minerals

Wild cats would also drink from freshwater lakes. So they would consume some algae in their diet.

How I give algae supplements to Jericho:

I put the powder out on a separate plate and let him choose when he needs it.

I do not mix it in his food. Cats are very intuitive and know exactly what they need.

Jericho will lick it up if/when he needs it.

I also take these algae supplements as a vitamin/mineral supplement.

I personally think this is a much better approach to feeding our cats 100% whole foods.

The body knows how to digest and assimilate whole foods (aka algae).

But the body cannot properly digest and assimilate synthetic, isolated nutrients.

Further, many synthetic supplements provided in excess can cause toxicity. But their natural whole food forms do not. Please read the studies below.
