The Problem with Nietzsche's Overman: Tikkun Olam [JT #99]
24
In 'Thus Spoke Zarathustra', Nietzsche explains that the coming Overman is rather humanity's transition toward the birth of a New God. At that point, humanity shall perish. The belief in a future God that must be born of this universe stems from a long Jewish tradition. It is the tradition of Tikkun olam, the belief that the world is broken, and that people must work to repair 'her', in preparation for the New God's arrival. And this is problematic, for it means Nietzsche is not the man right-wing thinkers hoped he was.
