Why It's Important to Remember Your "Why - Lee Ann Bonnell

As an entrepreneur or professional, it's easy to get bogged down in the day-to-day grind. deadlines, meetings, projects, and client calls can start to feel never-ending.

When you're in the weeds like that, it's important to take a step back and remember why you started your business or embarked on your career path in the first place.

Keeping that "why" close to your heart can help you push through tough times and stay motivated when things get tough.

Your "why" is the motivating factor that drives you to do what you do. I call it the "big mofa". For some people, it's a desire to make a difference in the world. For others, it's the inspiration for their craft or a deep belief in the power of their product or service.

(What if you don't know or have a strong why? We'll get to that later, believe me, I have just found mine and that is why I am pivoting on all of my writings and marketing.)

No matter what yours is, it's important to keep that "why" at the forefront of your mind—especially when things get tough.

Here's why:

There is no such thing as a motivation Fairy, although I have called on her and have in the past, to hurry up and sprinkle some motivation dust on me. Your why is a rock you can depend on to keep you to your path.

When you remember your "why," you stay motivated. Motivation is key in any business or career journey. There will be ups and downs, highs and lows—that's just inevitable. But when things are tough and you're struggling to push through, remembering why you started can give you the boost you need to keep going.

When you remember your "why," you stay focused. It's easy to get sidetracked when you're busy working on a million different things at once. But if you keep your "why" top of mind, it will be easier for you to stay focused on what's important and let go of distractions.

When you remember your "why," you stay inspired. Seeing other people achieve their dreams can be both inspiring and discouraging at the same time. On one hand, it's great to see other people succeed; but on the other hand, it can make us question our own efforts and wonder if we'll ever reach our goals. Remembering your "why" can help keep things in perspective and inspire you to keep reaching for the stars.

No matter what industry you're in or what stage of your journey you're currently at, remembering your "why" is essential.

Keep that motivating factor close to your heart, and let it drive you forward when things get tough.

Remember: Why not YOU? Why not NOW?
