The hotel released a statement saying that they believe the previous residence was used by Escobar for secret meetings and deals with his cartel members.

It is said that the legendary drug lord used the hotel's tranquil meditation area as an escape tunnel and hiding place.

Historic significance aside, the hotel also boasts a one-of-a-kind aesthetic thanks to works by artists such as Jeff Koons, Basquiat, Keith Haring, KAWS, and others.
