The Philippine Coast Guard assisted residents in Cagayan province as the approaching Tropical Depression Maymay brought intense rain on October 11.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said in its 5 pm update that the tropical depression was almost stationary over the Philippine Sea. The tropical depression was forecast to move slowly westward, bringing scattered flooding and strong winds.
The center of the tropical depression could make landfall near Aurora by Wednesday evening or early Thursday, PAGASA said.
