More Work on the Dairy Field - Improving the Fields with our Flock

Peter continues work on rejuvenating the old dairy field in our neighbor’s tractor. He has taken this field from large divots to nice and flat so that it is ready to seed right before snowfall. Although we got a spot of rain while working on the field, we have had a very dry fall so far and hoping for more rain soon.
Peter details the type of fencing he uses for the grazing paddocks for the last 45 grazable days. He strategically placed the bales of hay where we had patchy growth in the field - this will not only feed the flock, it will also provide seed and carbon to improve this field.
Next, we had a mystery solved. One of the steer that we butchered this year was not actually a steer - we found he was still intact. Peter found the banding ring in the field - we are not sure how it slipped off.
The sheep have been good for stripping overgrown trees. They slurp the leaves off the saplings, which would otherwise take strength away from the trees we want to keep.
