📹 IndiGo plane engine bursts into fire on runway 🇮🇳

Another plane incident, another one without casualties fortunately. On October 28, 2022, this IndiGo Airbus A320-200 was about to take off from Delhi’s international airport in India with 184 passengers and crew on board when the right engine burst into flames while the plane was approaching take off speed.

As the fire was soon noticed by passengers and crew alike, their take off was rejected and within minutes the plane taxied to a safe place off the runway in order to evacuate those on board. IndiGo flight 6E 2131 was to depart for a domestic flight to Bangalore, but it’s safe to say that this plane didn’t go anywhere after this engine fire.

According to reports, the plane with registration VT-IFM was only at some 45 knots when the right engine erupted in fire, giving the pilot and copilot enough time to stop the plane as soon as possible. All passengers were eventually accommodated on another aircraft to reach their destination of Bangalore, India.
