It is a pleasure to welcome back to the program Daniel Nichanian; he is the editor-in-chief of bolts magazine. Daniel said before taking the break I said there I have no one else in the world who follows individual races across the country down-ballot races. Particularly in terms of Justice Reform questions sheriffs and prosecutors. Or frankly, ballot referendums like you do. It is always a pleasure to have you here and we should just also say you're not in a sauna. It's just it just there's a light Haze going. Yeah, it's soft lighting. Soft lighting. I understand. I do the same thing to maintain the image. But thanks for joining us. It's great to be back. Thanks for having me. All right let's go through you have a piece in bolts magazine. that breaks it down in terms of important issues. Let's start with that. Let's start with abortion. Because when the row is overturned in the Dobbs case. There were at least on paper I think it was 13 or 14 States that had trigger laws that would have gone right into effect. Some of those did. Some were held up by courts. And then there was an anticipation that we could get up to like 28-24 somewhere in that neighborhood of States across the country that are ultimately going to ban abortion. We're gonna see some we're seeing both things sort of happening in a couple of next weeks. Both enshrining the right to an abortion. And an attempt to remove it. Let's go through some of those States. No, you're absolutely right. And you know one thing to also keep in mind as we discuss this is that the midterms are next week. They were a few months after Dobbs. The Sessions in many states are going to start in January-February. And we might see a lot of new bills, and a lot of new Bills starting in the spring that we haven't yet seen. In part because Republicans don't want to kind of get even more attention to abortion before the election. Any part of us because they haven't been in session and really the state to focus on this issue is the state of Michigan. It's really the only state that has a law on the books that would ban abortion. It's been held up in court which is why Michigan doesn't really have a ban right now. But it's in the books.
