Robbery gang poured petrol on woman's face and said: 'Get a lighter'

The lady was left dreading for her life inside her Staffordshire home

Three vicious hooligans have been imprisoned for a sum of 34 years after an unnerving theft at a house in Staffordshire. A court heard how the triplet exposed a lady to a frightening experience which left her dreading for her life.

Shane Lee Salmon, Hayley Karen Bartlett and Roxanne Chelsea Gallagher were condemned at Stir up on-Trent Crown Court. It came after they burst into a lady's home after she let them know her accomplice was not in.

They were wearing covers during the difficulty on May 26 this year, the court heard. The casualty was snatched and had material placed in her mouth that had been drenched in petroleum.

She was over and again punched and kicked. Somebody then soaked the casualty's head and face with petroleum and she attempted to relax.

Gallagher was heard to say "get a lighter" which left the casualty dreading for her life. The casualty was then tossed into the steps wall during the burglary.

Bartlett then pepper showered her in the face. The casualty supported five facial breaks and different injuries on her body.

The wrongdoers took a PC, two iPhones, a planner tote, two pieces of jewelry, a watch and the casualty's vehicle keys. The next day (May 27) Salmon took a lady's vehicle at knifepoint.

He was captured close by Barlett on the M6 soon thereafter. Gallagher was captured and charged on August 9.

Salmon, 26, of Hugh Street, Coventry, was condemned to 12 years detainment for two counts of burglary.

Bartlett, 30, likewise of Hugh Street, Coventry, was imprisoned for a long time for burglary, ownership of monkey dust and have a weapon for the release of a poisonous gas/fluid. Gallagher,

35, of Sefton Street, Normacot, Stir up on-Trent, was likewise condemned to 11 years detainment for burglary.

Analyst Monitor Andy Bryan, of Staffordshire Police CID, said: "I might want to thank every one of those engaged with the effective conviction of Salmon, Bartlett and Gallagher. It was a startling trial for the person in question.

"These convictions and sentences mirror the seriousness and earnestness with which these offenses are taken."
