New body camera video showed the moments Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers rescued a little girl who had been abducted from Kansas.

The 6-year-old was inside of a car that had just been stolen by the suspect in Wichita. The scary ordeal lasted about an hour on Sunday before troopers rescued the little girl at a gas station just over the Oklahoma, Kansas state line.

It was a moment of relief as an OHP trooper informed dispatch they had successfully rescued a 6-year-old girl. They released a body camera video that showed the moment troopers arrested her abductor.

The suspect got out of the driver's side of the vehicle and got on his knees as OHP placed him under arrest.

"The little girl was recovered safely. She appeared to be okay, not injured,” said Trooper Eric Foster with OHP.

KOCO 5 spoke with OHP the day after she was rescued. They said that on Sunday, the suspect carjacked the vehicle outside of a liquor store in Wichita.

The little girl was in the backseat and her dad was inside the store.

Law enforcement knew the suspect was heading south toward Oklahoma, so they lined Interstate 35 waiting for him. Finally, Trooper Tyler Langston spotted the vehicle and made the traffic stop at the gas station in Tonkawa.

The suspect was arrested and the 6-year-old girl was unharmed.

"She did say one thing to us, "I don't think that's my daddy,'" Foster said.

Thankfully, it was a happy ending. KOCO 5 was told the suspect was booked into the Kay County Jail and will be extradited back to Kansas.

The little girl has been reunited with her family.
