How to Replace and Upgrade Brakes on a Chevy Colorado ZR2 | Pt 1 Drilled and Slotted Rotors

We use our Chevy Colorado ZR Bison pretty extreme. We are constantly off-road on trails, extreme terrain, and in braking situations that are not typical of road driving. That being the case, we feel that our OEM brakes from GM have not been up to snuff.

We do not have a lot of miles on our truck, but we have already had to replace pads on the Chevy Colorado ZR Bison. We do not tow, but with all of the off-road use, and the fact that our vehicle is typically loaded with gear, puts a strain on the stock brakes.

We have decided to upgrade to Powerstop Z36 Extreme rotors and pads from Powerstop Brakes to help us with our stopping power and get longer life from the ceramic pads. The rotors in this kit are drilled and slotted. The brake pads are ceramic brake pads.

This video will cover the rotor install, because the pads changed from 2021+ and the pads in the kit we ordered were incorrect. The pads in this kit would only fit 2015-2020 Chevy Colorado

We will have a part 2 video to show the replacement of the brake pads.

The process for the rotors should be the same for;
2015 Chevy Colorado
2016 Chevy Colorado
2017 Chevy Colorado
2018 Chevy Colorado
2019 Chevy Colorado
2020 Chevy Colorado
2021 Chevy Colorado
2022 Chevy Colorado
