How to Replace and Upgrade Brakes on a Chevy Colorado ZR2 | Pt 2 Ceramic Brake Pads

Let's install some ceramic brake pads on our Chevy Colorado ZR2 Bison!

Our truck does go through some extreme use. We are constantly off-road on trails, extreme terrain, and in braking situations that are not typical of road driving. That being the case, we feel that our OEM brakes from GM have not been up to par with the vehicle.

We do not have a lot of miles on our truck, but we have already had to replace pads on the Chevy Colorado ZR Bison. We do not tow, but with all of the off-road use, and the fact that our vehicle is typically loaded with gear, puts a strain on the stock brakes.

We have decided to upgrade to Powerstop Z36 Extreme rotors and pads from Powerstop Brakes to help us with our stopping power and get longer life from the ceramic pads. The rotors in this kit are drilled and slotted. The brake pads are ceramic brake pads.

This video will cover the brake pad install and we have chosen ceramic pads. These should give us better, longer lasting stopping power!

In part 1, we upgraded our rotors. You can watch it here: https://youtu.be/F8ieNSoddaI

The process for the rotors should be the same for;

2021 Chevy Colorado
2022 Chevy Colorado
