Tonight’s Stories:

Grayscale vs VanEck on Spot BTC ETF
Kevin O’Leary’s WonderFi to buy Canadian Exchange

It’s 10 PM Pacific time and the date is April 17th, 2022. And welcome back to the Crypto Overnighter. I am your host, Nick. The cover model for this podcast is Tex and together we take a nightly look at the crypto, nft and metaverse space and the industry that surrounds it. We’re here to bring you the crypto news analysis you need to start your day.  And keep in mind, nothing in this show should ever be considered financial advice.

Ok, all of you that are on Apple, listen up. There’s a bug that affects you if you use Metamask on an IOS device. Basically speaking, if you have enabled iCloud backup for application data, it’s also going to backup your password encrypted metamask vault. So then, if you have a weak password or if you get phished, they can steal your crypto from you.

There’s this guy, that happened to Dominic Iacovone. He lost several NFTs and over $100 thousand in Apecoin. He got called by a scammer. He called the scammer, who came up as Apple on the caller id. The scammer aksed for a two-factor authentication code that was sent to his phone. Seconds later, it was wiped clean.  See, the scammer already got his iCloud credentials. So he just needed to 2 factor authentication. That could have saved this guy’s NFT collection and crypto.

Be aware. Never, ever, ever, ever read your code to anyone. I don’t care who they claim to be. Never give out that code. Treat it just as safe, if not safer than your password. Some of y’all don’t do a good job of taking care of your passwords either, but that’s a different issue.

Now before we get into tonight’s stories, let’s take a quick look at the markets. We had quite the precipitous drop in the market last night. That said, it looks like the markets are recovering nicely, with Luna leading the way at 15.3% on the day, at the time of writing.
