Abandonment, anxiety, and low self-worth became an angry gaping wound I filled with junk food, television, blackout binge drinking, diet pills, and a constant need for approval from the world. I was completely fascinated with “famous” people and addicted to meeting them (hence the Rick Nielsen pic), and searched blindly for love from men incapable of giving it. Today I live by this verse: “If pleasing people were my goal, I would not be Christ’s servant.” Galatians 1:10.
