On Thursday, the U.S. Treasury Department issued a so-called six-month sanctions exemption for Syria-bound humanitarian aid, saying the U.S. sanctions in Syria "will not stand in the way" of live-saving efforts.

The Syrian ministry responded in the statement that the U.S. decision "stipulates alleged exemptions for humanitarian purposes, and the facts on the ground proved its falsehood."

The U.S. coercive measures and U.S. policies have deprived the Syrian people of their natural wealth, it added, urging the United States to end immediately, without hesitation, conditions or exceptions, the sanctions and to stop its cruel practices and violations of international law and the principles and purposes of the UN Charter.

Two Emirati and Tunisian planes arrived in the international airports of Damascus and Aleppo, carrying relief aid for those affected by the earthquake.

SANA reporter stated that the Emirati plane was carrying 87 tons and 420 kilograms of food and relief supplies for those affected by the earthquake.

The Tunisian plane, which arrived at Aleppo Airport, also carries medicines, blankets, foodstuffs, and medical devices weighing 8 tons and 300 kg for those affected by the earthquake.

Western countries do not provide necessary aid to the Syrian government, which is dealing with the fallout of the devastating earthquake, and only care about Turkey or areas in Syria that are controlled by terrorist or opposition groups, the Syrian Presidency's Special Advisor Bouthaina Shaaban said.

"Unfortunately, the West only cares about areas where the terrorists are - where the White Helmets are - but they do not care about the areas in which most Syrian people live... Most of the money, all of the equipment has been dispatched to Turkey from Europe and from the US.
