Mounting Fallen Truck Camper On Trailer Pt 2

John, Chris and I finish getting the truck camper onto the trailer. It was quite a job and a tight fit but we got it done.

Due to suggestions in YouTube comments we lifted the front of the truck camper into the air and then slid the trailer under the camper.

Some people have said we should do it backwards and tip the camper over onto its nose and load the trailer underneath from the back. But this would further damage the already compromised framing under the nose of the camper in the cab over bed area.

And there would be no place to put a come along on the trailer that way to pull the camper onto the trailer.

But going from the front, we had the tongue of the trailer to attach a come along on each side of the truck camper. Each come along then attached to the tongue of the trailer. The other end of the come along attaches to the camper jack mount on the side. This gives us pulling power to pull the truck camper right onto the trailer all the way.

Our main limitation is that we only have one engine hoist to lift one side of the camper. To lift the other side we had to use a small hydraulic jack. I had to pile up wood blocks and car tires higher and higher as I went up with the jack.

But we got the job done eventually. It took us about an hour and a half to two hours. But this includes searching for tools and equipment and other things. So overall it was not too bad a job.

Thank you again John for coming out to help us. It was greatly appreciated by both myself and Chris.
