Working On Chicken Run & Fishing Camping Trip

Melanie and I started work on the chicken run while Chris was cutting fire wood. Later we loaded up the boat for a fishing and camping trip with a friend.

Someone sent us a special tool for the Husqvarna chain saw. This tool sharpens the cutting blades and the rake on the chainsaw chain. This will seriously improve the cutting ability of the saw. Thank you!

I finished pounding in the stakes for the chicken wire. This took a considerable amount of time due to all the rocks in the area. I kept hitting a rock while attempting to pound in a stake. So I would move the stake and try again until I finally got one into the ground well enough.

Eventually I got the job done and Melanie helped me open up a roll of chicken wire. When we finished this job it was already time to get ready to go on our fishing trip so I stood up the wire for now. I will finish when we get back.

Melanie and I loaded up the truck for our trip. We put the boat in the back and then loaded up our Bug Out Bags. It is very convenient that we simply need about 5 to 10 minutes to load the truck for a trip. We keep our Bug Out Bags loaded and ready to go at all times. We even keep the food in the supplementary food bag stocked up and ready to go.

Each time we load up to leave, it is a sort of practice for us. When we return from a trip, we reload our gear properly and get ready for the next trip.

When you are always prepared in this way, you do not have to stress during a real emergency. And disaster or emergency can occur at any time. During this particular weekend there is a hurricane coming up the coast towards us. I have lived through two devastating hurricanes in NY already so I know what they can do.
