Melanies New Camper & Putting Truck Camper On Trailer

It was a very busy day. Melanie has a new camper for her crafts. We got the truck camper on a trailer. And John came back to help out today.

In the morning I leveled the truck camper back onto solid ground. Then Melanie and I emptied the truck camper entirely to prepare it for loading onto a trailer.

We put all our stuff out on a tarp on the ground. Now I see why the poor thing tipped over in the first place. And this is not all of the stuff that was in there at the time.

Next Chris and I left to go pick up a hard sided popup camper for Melanie to use as an office. It was at the place where we have been going fishing. It belonged to a friend of ours. We traded some of the junk forklift batteries for the camper.

This is a really beautiful camper with hard sides and lots of windows. It will make the perfect place for Melanie to work in. The mice did their damage on the canvas slide outs years ago so the camper was not being used anymore.

Melanie had a vision of restoring it and using it. So we brought it home. We are going to frame in the sides and close them off permanently making it a solid walled office for Melanie.

Melanie will keep her crafts and extra kitchen stuff in her camper. I will use the truck camper once again as a survival stash for all our survival and camping gear.

After we arrived with Melanie's camper John came over to help out for a while. Just in time too. Chris and I were starting on the job of putting the truck camper onto a trailer.

We first use an engine hoist and a jack to raise the front of the truck camper a little bit at a time. Chris shoved the trailer under the edge of the camper as we lifted it.

John is quite strong and was shaking the camper as I worked the come alongs to pull the camper a little bit at a time onto the tilt bed trailer.

Stay tuned for part two of today's work.
